Royston golf club
Great pro shop, happy members, the course is un like anything I have played before felt like a seaside links, no water and not really tree lined the rough and the wind protect this course. Many great holes that make you really think about which clubs to use I would recommend this course to anyone wanting a different challenge.
Lovely course after some rain
Played here after a few days of rain and the course was absolutely amazing. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were in great condition. Although not being that long, it certainly is a challenge. My friend even managed to make his first ever eagle. Staff were very friendly too.
Scenic course in a great condition
First time we had played this course, it was tricky but very enjoyable. Greens were in great condition and each hole was like a feature hole! Will definitely play again!
You’ll earn your steps!
Great course and layout. So many holes could be “feature” holes.
Don’t expect many easy shots. Always got to consider the change in height and wind certainly plays it part! It’s tough on the legs but the course condition was excellent. Greens were running true!
Good value
Can’t argue was happy after my round yesterday, well organised For the current situation Although luckily someone was near the clubhouse to tell us to park up the road and report to man on 1st tee Or it might of been a little confusing but apart from that all good.
Great layout and friendly staff
Very good round of golf really enjoyed can’t wait to go back
Excellent golf course and experience
Royston is a unique golf course being a local nature reserve and area of scientific interest on common land. Therfiled heath was a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and we had the entire course to ourselves. Definitely would recommend as an experience and the club shop and clubhouse staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Challenging in the rain!
This is a unique course, which plays longer than it actually is. From the white tees it is quite a challenge. Lots of uphill shots make club selection interesting. The course is exposed to the elements, so when the wind blows it is tricky. We thoroughly enjoyed our round. I would recommend getting a buggy because it is quite a walk between holes. We parked at the tennis club to get access to the first tee.
Brought back memories
Course as ever in great condition and the hills are as draining on your legs as they always were. Used to play here a lot as a youngster, removal of road holes diminishes the course a little but such is life. Never too busy here because of the physical demands but beware the walkers and families with dogs who often don't show you much consideration- they can ruin the odd shot for you! Very different to most courses in our area and worth so long as your legs can take the slopes
