Little Gem
Haven't played Ryburn for 20+years and wasn't disappointed, the course is a challenge for all levels of golfing ability. It's a course you have to plot your way round. My wife and myself really enjoyed the 18 holes.
The clubs house was closed with it been bank holiday but we had a chat with some of the members and they were very friendly, just as I remembered from my last round all those years ago
Would recommend it to anyone.
No complaints at all
The course was very quiet when we set off on the 1st tee at 10am. After completing the 1st 9 holes the course was quite busy but we were never held up at any point. Talked to a number of members during the round who were very friendly and welcoming. The course was in very good condition with the greens running fast. The pace of play was good. The course is made more interesting by a number of tee positions on the 2nd 9 holes being different to the 1st 9 holes. Excellent course certainly worth a visit. Excellent views of the local Calderdale area a bonus.
Most enjoyable round
The course was relatively quiet and we had a very pleasant round of golf. The course was in excellent condition with the greens superb. The weather was good allowing us to enjoy the great views along the Calder Valley. Spoke to members on the course who were all very friendly. I would certainly recommend a visit.
Great little course!
Lovely little track.
Course was in impeccable condition and the greens were really nice.
Tough little course, the first 2 par 3’s were harder than some of the par 4’s especially the 4th hole, can imagine that’s ruined a few cards for some of the members!
Will definitely be going back for a round!
Nice course, well kept
One of the best kept courses in Calderdale. Staff very friendly as were the members. Can’t recommend this course highly enough
Varied and challenging
It was very windy and had rained overnight so there was little run on the ball and a stiff breeze that held up shots played high. The greens and fairway were in excellent condition. The grass was being cut whilst I played without causing disruption.
The 9 holes are set on a hillside so there is quite a lot of climbing and walking downhill. The alternative tee positions in most cases provide a different challenge on the second 9 holes. The course is quite tight and many wayward shots would be penalised by being out of bounds.
I would definitely go back to Ryburn golf club, preferably when it was less windy. Provided players accept the vagaries of 9 hole courses I feel it is definitely worth a visit. I will go back for sure even though I am a member of another local 9 hole course.
Good course
A good 9-hole course with 2 different tees from each hole making for interesting angles on most holes. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The greenkeeping staff were friendly as were the members who were very welcoming. I have played at Ryburn in the past on several occasions and will certainly be returning
Great club
Very friendly club, course in very good condition with excellent t greens. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and were very helpful. Nice clubhouse with good food and a good selection of drinks. One note of warning, catering and the bar are only open at certain times so it's best to check in advance
Lovely course in lovely area
Although it is a 9 hole course there are 18 tees with some providing different angles to the green which makes for a more interesting round. The fairways and greens were in excellent order. I can imagine it will get a little windy as you are quite high up with good paranamic views of the area including the nearby moor. However at the time of our visit it was calm. I have no complaints at all and will be returning.
After booking this course 3 players totalling 51.00 I received a text from Ryburn detailing all the problems with the course with an option to cancel. I telephoned Golf now and cancelled immediately and still 5 days later not received my money back,
PLEASE ACTION IMMEDIATELY

The course was excellent and quiet. The condition wasn’t the best but good considering the amount of snow recently had. The staff and people were friendly and helpful.
The course configuration wasn’t ideal. Thankfully someone could explain the process to us clearly. The winter tees were fine but some of the tee mats weren’t in the best condition.
Overall we enjoyed the round and at £15 a round it was certainly value for money.
