Great Course
Played this course several times some years ago so kinda knew its standard. But was still a nice surprise to play it an remember what it was like from back then. Went out back end of a society so pace was somewhat slow, so jumped onto the back 9 first then finished the front, all in all a great day an shot 78 so happy days....
Course condition poor
Ive played this course loads back in the 1990s, it was first class. The layout has changes and to the detriment, it is not looked after. Very disappointed as I took 2 guests. never again. I recommend the green staff look at the 17 green and base the rest of the course on its condition. it compares to what the course used to look like.
Not an enjoyable course
Played the course this morning, course in very poor condition especially the tee boxes and greens. No pitch marks repaired. Fairways not good either. Overall very poor value for money,no way worth £25, in this condition I would say £15 to £18 max, it's been a long time since this was a championship course.
Stockley Park , Uxbridge
I quite enjoyed the golf course . It was challenging to find entrance . Score card needs to have layout of 18 holes . I would prefer to have sketch of layout of each hole marked on each Tee off
Poor course management
Booked a tee time for 8:12, only to find a 5 ball on the 1st at that time. The pace was really slow due that group. Quit after 5 hours and still waiting on the 16th tee. Not sure why the marshall did not move on the group ahead as the hole in front was clear. Spent 5/10 mins on every tee box. What a joke.
Atrocious buggies & poor tee-off areas
You need a buggy on this course as he first hole is about a 15 minute walk and when you get there, you’ll be thinking if you really are on an 18 hole course rather than a community pitch & putt course! The buggies are the slowest buggies I have ever experienced. Plus they are charging £24 for each one which I think is very poor!
Desperately need to renew their buggies and their tee-off areas!
Avoid
I feel compelled to write this because if you’re considering paying to pay here... stop! It is dreadful, in poor condition, tee boxes are a shamble, the fairways despite the hot weather looks like it’s been manicured by a blind man. Don’t get started on the comical bunkers and appalling amounts of litter EVERYWHERE, seriously, what an absolute disgrace. To describe this as a golf course is embarrassment to all other green keepers.
Couldn’t bring me back here for free...
Greens ok and staff very helpful.
Nice little course
As expected this time of year, the course was very dry, which made ball striking paramount. It's not the longest course, but it still has its own challenges with dog-legs, water, well placed bunkers and blind tee shots.
stockley park review
have played this course on a number of occasions over the years and seen many changes here
I thought that the course was in a very poor condition overall with bunkers in a shocking state with hard pan surface and literally no rakes available,
course is also already showing signs of burning up with the sun ...
So much potential
This course has invested in a new driving range etc. but letting the course slip. No sand in any of the bunkers, greens are rock hard etc. Bit more effort where it matters please!!
Stockley Park
Course improvements helped! course in good condition bunkers not the best no real sand difficult to judge.
Ignore the bad feedback
I haven't played stockley Park in years but thought I'd give it a go as it was only £11. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and thought it was in very good condition considering it was covered in snow only a few days ago. The only real negative is that the first hole is pretty much unplayable as its being refurbished. Apart from that the course is very enjoyable and I will definitely be back.
normal sunday
a slow 5 hour round but cannot expect much else after the weather we have had, steady pace but lots of 4 balls in front, a wait to tee off at each hole but not queueing. joined up with another 2 ball after 3 holes so had some good company on the round, overall an enjoyable sunday afternoon with only one shower the whole time and of course the weatherspoons on site finished the day perfectly
Wicked
To be honest i was surprised how good the condition of the course and greens are. I would highly recommend it
Can't believe how poor it now is !!!!
Have played stockley over the years and it's always been a pretty decent course. Now however .... Shocking !!!
The Greens are extremely poor , the fairways not much better on most, signage poor hole to hole and the so called 'new first hole' !!!! What a joke ... A par 3 played from a winter mat and you get to play across a path with an overgrown mound on one side and a huge ditch full of mud the other -warrants, cannot believe they don't advise you of this either when booking or on arrival, if it weren't for the fact the first is a decent walk from the clubhouse most would probably go back then and there and complain - and in my opinion warrants at least £5 off just for that. All in all won't be going back in a hurry and certainly won't be recommending to anyone .
Stockley Packed
I booked to play single because it looked free online, and was so looking forward to playing a course with blue (pro) tees even though I would be hacking off the yellows
Apparently not free and a late medal competition meant it was backing-up when I went.
I quickly joined a 2 in-front of me but we were stuck behind 6 clowns going off the blues and straight into the trees. The marshall did nothing except ask them to play as a 6 as this might be quicker...
A round for 3 of us took 5 hours and 15 minutes!
The course. Some of the greens are quite badly broken. Some of the sandpits are full of stones and I simply wouldn't use an expensive wedge in there - rather take a drop. Generally the course is nice but the grass is too long and it made it difficult to find your ball. To be fair - it had rained heavily before.
The first hole is under renovation - but is not playable - I just walked past it. This and the conditions of the greens make it a 2/5
Perhaps why clowns play there. Perhaps when the 1st hole is renovated I might try it again
Possibly the worst course I've experienced
Me and my friends have played 30-40 courses in London over the past couple of years and this is definitely the worst course we've played at - especially considering the mid-level pricing.
The first hole is the worst thing I have ever seen in my life... embarrassing. Avoid.
Sad
This used to be a really nice course, I played it a lot before they got greedy and put a driving range over the nice first hole, now it is a sad place,
It is uncared for, the greens are a disgrace mostly bald and cracking, the rough is stupidly long, the tee boxes are are unkempt and need mowing.
The layout has been changed so many times that no one seems to know where to go.
The Par 3 where the old 1st hole was is a joke, and finally the bar/proshop/clubhouse is like a poorly run coffee shop.
My advice would be - Don't Bother...
There are so many better courses around.
Good price.
Still have a problem with to many stones in the bunkers.
No Picnis
The course could do with a few patrols - one of the shocking things I've seen was a family having a picnic right behind the green - improve the signs just a bit more TLC would improve the experience.
For the price you can't knock it - 9/10 will find lost balls so good for beginners recommend playing here than say at Ruislip after a few rounds - don't be afraid of the banks can use them to your advantage and gain a few shots.
This time round I played with a half set, driver, 5wood, hybrid, 6, PW, 50,56 P.
Can't go wrong with the hot deals - but purlease go round and patrol!
