Stoney bunkers
For such a beautiful setting and course it is let down by its bunkers, far too many things in them than there should be, we treated them as GUR.
Stoney Bunkers
The bunkers are more like GUR - too many stones (as in Flint) shame as they add to the challenge of the course, but don't like using my £150 club in them.
Stoney Bunkers
The bunkers should be considered as GUR - loads of stones and plants growing, was worse than a penalty for a slightly off target shot
Bunkers should be GUR
Unfortunately the bunkers were ridden with stones and plants, shame as it let the course down...
Has potential
Bunkers and greens unplayable as too many stones and debris and greens had been treated which was not aware of so wasn’t worth the fee!! Has great potential though but needs to be tidied up and watered especially the greens. Had to smash every putt!!
Course Improving
Greens were being treated so were a little below par but should get better
Good value for money
Nice course, bunkers could use some attention (lots of weeds and rocks, especially fairway bunkers) and not one of the flags would stand straight! Very quiet for a bank holiday weekend, possibly due to lack of food. We were disappointed that the only food on offer was some sandwiches in the pro shop as we had gone early to have lunch first. We asked if there was anywhere local and were directed to a great (but slightly expensive) pub 2 minutes drive away. All in all a pleasant experience and we would play here again.
Greens was looking good big improvement
Great value for money, work has been done on the greens ,bunkers still need a bit of work .overall the course is looking good
Good value
Friendly and value for money. Few tricky holes makes it very interesting.
Nice course, shame about the greens
Enjoyable round today, lovely course, forgiving but challenging layout with doglegs and well placed bunkers.
But... greens were poor and need some work, very bobbly and tired. Bunkers also need some work, lots of stones and many unraked
Sort these out and there is a real gem here
Overall the course was was good, the greens are better than l played last year but unfortunately the bunkers were very bad not much sand but plenty of stones once the bunkers are sorted can be a good course to visit again
Nice layout
Thoroughly enjoyed the course, fairways were in great condition unfortunately the greens running pretty uneven despite the poor weather.
Definitely a must play
I have played a few courses already this year and been met with mats at the tee, muddy fairways where I’ve lost balls plugged or covered in mud and mud on my glasses from boggy shots into the green. I know it’s winter and I expect all these conditions to be honest BUT none of these were evident at the Hampshire.
All tee’s in play good firm fairways and not a puddle in sight. A good challenging course, lots of views, lots of different holes and plenty of forgiveness for the odd wind assisted slice!!!!
I can’t recommended this course enough - and having played it in good weather as well I don’t know why you wouldn’t come here.
My only word of caution is get an early tee time. We were the second group out and when we passed the first there must of been 4 or 5 groups lined up waiting to play.
Tired Greens
Nice layout and good course except the greens. Very old and tired!!
Warm welcome with a smile
Like this course and a very warm welcome from staff in the morning who let us go off early. Thanks. Pete and Dave
Excellent
After all the rain and wind and no sun, the course stood up very well, drainage here isn't a problem and the course was in great condition.
Even had a rangale of deer pass us on one hole
Wokefield
Great fairways & unbelievably dry, great welcome from the two girls & well worth there trip from Reading
Great views! Great welcome!
Hidden gem! When other courses are flooded this course drains!
Staff friendly!
