The Hampshire Golf Club - Manor Course

Nice course, bunkers could use some attention (lots of weeds and rocks, especially fairway bunkers) and not one of the flags would stand straight! Very quiet for a bank holiday weekend, possibly due to lack of food. We were disappointed that the only food on offer was some sandwiches in the pro shop as we had gone early to have lunch first. We asked if there was anywhere local and were directed to a great (but slightly expensive) pub 2 minutes drive away. All in all a pleasant experience and we would play here again.

Friendly and value for money. Few tricky holes makes it very interesting.

Enjoyable round today, lovely course, forgiving but challenging layout with doglegs and well placed bunkers.

But... greens were poor and need some work, very bobbly and tired. Bunkers also need some work, lots of stones and many unraked

Sort these out and there is a real gem here

Overall the course was was good,the greens are better than l played last year but unfortunately the bunkers were very bad not much sand but plenty of stones once the bunkers are sorted can be a good course to visit again

Thoroughly enjoyed the course, fairways were in great condition unfortunately the greens running pretty uneven despite the poor weather.

I have played a few courses already this year and been met with mats at the tee, muddy fairways where I’ve lost balls plugged or covered in mud and mud on my glasses from boggy shots into the green. I know it’s winter and I expect all these conditions to be honest BUT none of these were evident at the Hampshire.

All tee’s in play good firm fairways and not a puddle in sight. A good challenging course, lots of views, lots of different holes and plenty of forgiveness for the odd wind assisted slice!!!!

I can’t recommended this course enough - and having played it in good weather as well I don’t know why you wouldn’t come here.

My only word of caution is get an early tee time. We were the second group out and when we passed the first there must of been 4 or 5 groups lined up waiting to play.

After all the rain and wind and no sun, the course stood up very well, drainage here isn't a problem and the course was in great condition.

Even had a rangale of deer pass us on one hole

Great fairways & unbelievably dry, great welcome from the two girls & well worth there trip from Reading

Hidden gem! When other courses are flooded this course drains!

Wow. a great winter course. Overall tidy, great fairways a pleasure to play in January without being covered in mud. Great value with fantastic staff, very attentive.

Will I return? without doubt, perfect to keep your swing in tune for next season.

Very dry greens need a bit of work but not to bad for this time of year some short holes some long nice mixture

Played this course again today 2nd time in 8 days. The fairways were in great condition,no puddles or mud. My trolley and shoes needed no cleaning.

There was great availability at the weekend which was one of the reasons we booked and at £25 was good value for money on a chalk based course.

The 2 girls were terrific totally accommodating and welcoming. We were so impressed that we have booked 4 tee times for next weekend.

Julia and Amy were excellent and looked after our every nee, ensuring that we knew where all the facilities were. They both went the extra mile to make sure that our group were catered for and were very friendly and warm towards us all. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a friendly game of golf.

Great course, great views and great long holes.. you wouldn’t find a better course for the money, and dryer this time of the year..
