Little Gem
Played today with my brother for the first time. Considering the rain we’ve had recently this course was a pleasure to play and for £12 you can’t go wrong. Wet in places but some lovely holes I’ll definitely be coming back in the summer.
Worth playing
Decent 9 hole course, friendly staff, is probably the best for value in the local area, I have played here a few times and the course has always been in better shape than some other places that are charging almost £30,
Course for beginners
Good value for money if you are visiting the area. Easy to book through Golf Now
Perfect for beginners or experienced players
Brilliant little course well worth a visit always quite challenging little course with some tricky shot over water.
Good for beginners or if you want to practice your short game incredible value plus friendly staff relaxed atmosphere never over crowded. Jewel of s par 3 course with optional par 4s on 2 holes
Nice 9 hole course
Twisted Stone is a 9 hole golf course which will challenge most players. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
This course is well worth a visit.
Good test for your short game, mostly par 3s but 2 holes can be lengthened to par 4s
Great Staff, Course is generally very good, 2nd green has some work being done but rest are very good and pretty quick. T boxes require a bit of attention. I play off of 10 but love playing here as it is a challenge.
I would rate this 4.6 out of 5.
Ignore the 3* star rating.
This course is definitely not worth the 3* star rating it currently has on golf now! Although it has basic amenities and facilities the staff are some of friendliest people and the course, for having one greenskeeper, is in great condition and not to mention the price! (£12). I would definitely recommend this course to any beginners getting into the game as well as any seniors and heck even any experienced golfers who just want to have a bit of fun, this course is for you!
Investment Needed
An early morning par 3 round was enjoyable but left me wanting more…froendly staff and clean, basic facilities. Course layout is actually okay with lots of water and very small greens, great for honing your short to mid irons.
Greens are in terrible condition however. A little investment really could bring this place alive.
I will be back but only for a quick practise before work and forget the greens!
Unfortunately since being traditions, the course is not in good condition
Sad to see but this really is not in great shape, and it was waterlogged, greens were not great, and really pitch and putt, but I would play other courses. Maybe they can fix and will be better in future. One or two nice greens, but overall was not great experience and my son’s first round of golf and he didn’t enjoy playing, as he was in water and mud most of time. Hope to see it turn the corner.
Friendly and interesting 9 hole !
Would definitely recommend as no where near as busy as other local courses send has full amenities
Review from regular player
I am still finding this course is well kept despite the constraints on the staff.
The greens run well and the fairways are an easy walk.
Needs improvement
Short, par 27, 9-hole course. Layout is ok, however the course needs some love and attention. The tee areas and greens need some improvement. Only played here this summer, I imagine it’s almost unplayable in the winter or after sustained periods of wet weather. Friendly staff but don’t expect to pick up any supplies in the shop - it’s incredibly bare.
Drying out nicely
The course, like others, has had its problems with flooding but is drying out nicely. Some way to go yet.
9 holes in a muddy field
This isn’t an 18 hole course, it’s barely 9 holes. Left to ruin, clearly going to be sold off ASAP. Avoid!
A good short course with some challenges
The course with its challenges was a pleasure to play.
The greens are running smoothly despite the weather we have had this year.
There were some water patches but that did not spoil the play.
I treated all the bunkers as GUR and suggest you do the same as they do need some work by the keepers at the moment.
The work for improvement is still ongoing with new mounds of earth and clogs in view the left the path of the green of hole 1.
