Excellent
1st time playing the course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only problem was that I had a 7am tee time and the pro shop wasn’t open til 8 so couldn’t get a score card and couldn’t see the course lay out. Greens we’re in great condition even with the relentless rain.
Good Course
Played for first time. Interesting golf course, good variety of holes and although plays quite short is still challenging as quite tight in place with a few blind shots. Course conditions were good but was surprised to see the greens spiked and heavily sanded but they still ran ok just didn’t check up on any chips. Would recommend.
Truro Golf Course
All round good day out however Temp greens were awful. Should have been told.
Did spoil a couple of holes
Great fun, well worth a visit
Definitely well worth a visit, a great little course. Nothing too challenging, although during the summer keeping your ball on a fairway is not easy, it rolls miles. Very friendly staff, from the pro shop to the bar. Will definitely be back again soon
Outstanding condition
The course is in outstanding condition. Still all on grass tee's, no temporary greens and so silly protection mats to carry around and play off, unlike other courses in Cornwall. Well done Truro.
Very enjoyable first visit
I very much enjoyed my first visit to Truro with friends who live locally. Lovely course with excellent greens. A very enjoyable round of golf.
Absolutely Value for money
Lovely course, although short in distance it makes up for difficulty with blind tee shots and approaches. As expected at this time of year green maintenance had been conducted, however this did not affect them with tricky pin positions and in my opinion fast greens. Really enjoyed the round and afterwards the bar for food and refreshments was fair priced with a good selection of food and refreshments. Also all the members were very polite and friendly and engaging. Thank you really enjoyed our away day
Great and friendly
Lovely course with quick greens. Everything feeds down towards the town and only needed my driver once. The hot weather had scorched the fairways but the staff did well to keep the greens in good condition.
Members were very welcoming and advised us about the course.
Strategic holes
First time playing Truro golf club. And impressions were good. Lovely lay out nice fair ways nice and fast greens. Overall top round.
Short enjoyable course
Weather was good, the course looked and played well.
Greens quick.
Could and should have played off whites. Would still have been sub 6,000 yards.
Would definitely play again.
Overall I would recommend
I would recommend this course I have played it numerous times and feel it’s give a fair enough challenge without being too hard, the reason this review is slightly lower is it frustrates me when it’s not advertised anywhere that the greens are undergoing work I understand why it has to happen and the greens were not the worst I have ever seen by any stretch but I would probably of booked elsewhere if I had known about the work on the greens. I will add this review is based solely on the last time I played it perhaps it’s an issue with golf now and they couldn’t advertise the green work I don’t know but it should be advertised to prevent people spending money on a course that’s not at full quality
Horrendous
We played on Sunday the 6th of February and the course shouldn’t have been open. We checked into the pro’s shop and told him we were booked on, he couldn’t wait to get us out of the door as he was going to do a coaching session. There wasn’t anybody playing but he didn’t say if we could tee off early. The guy behind the bar upstairs though was different class, chatty, friendly and funny.
The course, where to start. We were told it could be wet but it was horrendous. The flag was on the green outside the clubhouse (to tease golfers) but it was temps, well it was holes cut in the ground, one was even in the semi rough. The tees were closed and the mats were awful, you couldn’t even get tees into them. For a course that apparently gets wet in the winter you’d think they have proper winter tees and proper temps. The course looked like a football pitch in places, many places and was very wet. It then started raining so we had to walk in after 12 holes as the course was definitely unplayable, in fact I’m going to contact the course re the condition.
Very wet so not fair to review.
I cannot give a realistic review of course condition as it was very wet underfoot due to recent weather conditions being wet and stormy. As a course though its well laid out and I'm looking forward to going back and playing in the spring, when it will be dry.
