Perfect twilight round
Played an afternoon 4 ball on the hurricane. Course was busy when we arrived but pace of play was excellent. Course was in good condition and the greens were very good. Little bit of a walk between certain holes and although the course is on the shorter side, it didn't feel like it to play. Would be happy to play here again.
Poor condition of playing surface
I was disappointed with the condition of the course today and the green fees were not inline with this.
I was a member here for 2yrs and know the course can suffer with heavy rain but there hasn't been any recently and still the course was boggy.
I hope the club can address the costs to the condition of the course because if you can't attract people to the club during this time of year to spend in the bar there'll be problems.
Beat it been so far
Iv played this course a few times now and its in its best shape so far. Will be going back to play again very soon.
something different
Picked a good day weather wise, first time here.... Club house very friendly, good food, at a fair price. Was able to change course to the Spitfire. As this was a bit more challenging. Greens in good nick, fairways very muddy all over, as expected on parkland course. Lay out a little miss match. But dome lovely playing holes on the eye...
Great course
Played here the week before as a 2 ball, absolutely loved it so booked up a 4 ball for the following week. So had it booked with nearly a weeks notice. Was dissapointed to see that the greens were terrible a week later. I know this needs to be done but wish I had been told about it. Maybe we could have been put onto the spitfire course instead but nothing was said till we reached the first green.
In all it's a great course I feel we were just unlucky that this happened to us.
Nice course but the Spitfire is better
Course is well maintained and attractive. The stream which flows through several holes makes a nice feature and obstacle. Greens were in good condition. Reasonably straightforward but long so more suited to beginners than the Spitfire, which is both long and more technical.
