Not worth £175
Played at the end of October, other than the very good condition for the time of year, not close to being worth £175 a round. It’s £100 tops course. Can think of 5-6 other courses Within and hour and a half drive I’d rather play for the money.
Beautiful course, easy off golds, greens need to be better
Booked this course at 135 pounds which is 60 off the usual price apparently so was looking forward to a bargain round on a mint course. Clubhouse, pro shop, spike bar, food and drink pre round, all lovely and in line with a 200 course. Course was relatively easy off the gold tees, wide fairways and rough not too harsh. Greens were ok but had some sort of disease meaning they were not lightning quick which we had expected and looked disappointingly bad for this level of course. Some interesting holes with immaculate aprons, surrounds and defined fairways. The water holes stood out for me as the best. Halfway house well stocked and inviting and pace of play was superb with hardly anyone on the course in hot sunny weather. Would I play it again at 135 or 195? Probably not as I feel there are better courses for that money. I played Bearsted GC the next day and their greens were way better than London Club and it cost 40 quid. Maybe the Heritage Course at London Club is better and the one to go for, if you can get on. If I had 200 to spend on golf down that way I would probably play Princes or Port Cinque over this one. Thats my honest opinion.
Could have been excellent but...
The club obviously offers a premium experience and the facilities are excellent, with a really great welcome from all the staff we encountered throughout the day. We played The International course and found it a promising experience but one that ultimately left us frustrated and disappointed.
The general condition of the course is excellent with the sad exception of the really poor greens. Tee boxes were immaculate, the fairways are excellent, the green surrounds similar and the overall impression based on those alone is of a course that is well looked after with pride taken in its presentation and quality. It was utterly confounding and disappointing then to find the greens ruined by a complete covering of what looks like moss or disease (we subsequently discovered it was caused by the greenkeepers using the wrong mix of grasses). Every single putt bobbled and was knocked off course to the point where it ruined the whole round for us. Such a shame.
The layout of the course is really good, with a handful of genuinely excellent holes, many good ones and possibly only one or two that were forgettable. You have to be able to keep the ball in play off the tee or you'll be severely punished by the fescue. There is a fair bit of water on the front nine and plenty of shot shaping rewarded for the skilled golfer. I wouldn't say it's a difficult course but it does require some course management to negotiate successfully. You certainly can't just spray and pray.
We paid £105 each for the round and if the greens had been in good condition I would have said that was ok value for a weekend round. Unfortunately, the state of the greens means I'd really struggle to recommend this course at all right now. With things as they are I'd say that £70 represents ok value but even with that I just think it's best left until they fix the greens. Certainly £105 felt like really poor value for money given the current green conditions. It's obviously a known problem but the staff in the pro shop and the course status on the website both failed to mention the green issues. Frustrating because you can't fail to miss it!
I'd come back, but only for half the price or when they've fixed the greens. Until then, avoid!
Course to ourselves
Top quality course with fantastic facilities.
The course was in fantastic condition which is even more impressive given the weather we have had recently.
Greedy management
Played late in year and our tee time was pushed back from 10 (as booked) to 12 by the club. Playing the 18th was virtually in darkness due to slow play ahead. But there were 4 groups of 4 playing behind us! The club was being greedy. They shouldn't have tee times so late this time in the tear.
Beautiful Course in Great Condition
Staff in the clubhouse were friendly and helped kick off the day in a positive manner.
Course was in immaculate condition with a mixture of challenging and inviting holes.
Its a long walk but the great views make it an enjoyable one. A course to play for that special treat.
Fantastic course great condition
Couldn’t ask for more great condition course club house lovely atmosphere staff and food brilliant highly recommend
Superb for winter conditions
Top course even thought greens were frozen , ball bouncing everywhere. For freezing winter conditions the course was superb
Bucket list Course
Booked a cheap rate round and on arrival had a delay due to thunderstorms in the area. Staff kept us up-dated with regard to conditions and state of paly. Glad we had a buggy, 5.5 mile course and a few hills. Course in great condition and rain held off. Course was empty and fun to play.
GREAT LAYOUT
ALTHOUGH THE GREENS WERE GOOD I WAS DISAPPOINTED FOR THE MONEY I WAS EXPECTING PRISTINE GREENS AT THIS PRICE POINT ESPECIALLY AS THERE WAS A SENIOR TOUR EVENT HERE RECENTLY RANGE BALLS INCLUDED OFF REAL GRASS WAS A PLUS THOUGH
A very wet day
Low rating for course due to horrible weather. However the course was in very good condition. Would like to play in the sun!
Fantastic
It was so windy but that didn’t take away the enjoyment we had today. The corse as always was in fantastic condition and the staff are really accommodating. Special mention to the starter and the golf pro in the shop Ben. My dads electric buggy stopped working on the first hole and they brought a replacement out straight away. Great day out and would defo recommend
Best Course in Kent
It was a beautiful sunny day for February and a chance to play one of the finest courses in the area.
The welcome from the Pro- Shop staff was warm and genuine - they briefed us on the range facilities and different practice putting areas.
The course was in great condition - some recent hollow tining - but the ball still rolled nicely on the greens.
The service in the bar was attentive and the food/ drinks good value.
All round a perfect place to play golf.
London club International.
From pulling up to the security hut at the entrance of the club, to when he waved at us as we left, we were treated like celebrity’s, they couldn’t do enough for you. Breakfast was spot on. Practice area was superb. The pro shop couldn’t have been any more helpful if they tried. Tee boxes and greens immaculate as were the fairways especially for the time of year. That’s why we keep coming back. 10/10.
Top course in the south
Course in fantastic condition for this time of year, come off as clean as I walked on.
One of my favourite courses
