Wheathill Golf Club - Main Course

Entered pro shop, said hi, all I got was someone looking me up and down like what am I doing here. Told them my tee time I booked, got response off booked it cheap like I was scum. Ruined my enthusiasm for my day out. Friend felt the same. Local course to me so played before. Will I be back? , not happy with this visit.

Booked a last minute tee time for me and a couple of friends. The booking was painless, went through quickly with no problems and instant email confirming the booking.

The course was in great condition considering the lack of rain this year and the game flowed really nicely.

We all enjoyed the course which is challenging on some holes and forgiving on others so no a card killer.

Will definitely book again through GN and at Wheathill

A fun par 69. Quite a few short holes. Interesting enough and a bit of water here and there adds to the challenge. Staff helpful and encouraging

The course has a good mixture of holes, don't worry about taking the driver all the time, on some holes it's better to lay up, there are ditches to catch you out.

After your round enjoy a drink and and maybe something to eat before or after the food is very good 👍

Course was very wet in parts. Greens were mostly OK and good for playing on. Most tees were fibreboard but most of the fairways were fine. It started raining at about the 14th and by the time I finished mine was the last car in the carpark.

Absolutely stunning course and I can’t wait to get back in the spring when the course is in good nick and play because I can imagine it’s a lovely course to play fully,

Unfortunately when I played there the cause was very wet and therefore a lot of temporary tees and greens which is completely understandable but would have liked to have been informed of this before my arrival, also the temporary greens could have been slightly better maintained as it was virtually impossible to putt well on most of them…

Like I said previous I’m sure it’ll be great in better weather and will definitely be back when that time comes

Good course for beginners, but clubhouse (19th hole) closes far too early.

We enjoyed our round at Wheathill the proshop was very friendly and accomodating. The greens were a little slow but true and in good condition. There are some interesting holes especially liked the par 5 16th.

We were a little disappointed that the clubhouse closed at 5pm so when we came in at 5.05pm we were not able to get a drink. Overall would recommend as great value for money.

This isn’t Augusta. It’s a well maintained but somewhat rough and ready course. The fairways and greens are a little longer than you’d expect, but actually the ball runs pretty true on them.

It’s not the most challenging course, with wide fairways and limited hazards it’s a fun place to have a good stroll and chat without endlessly looking for lost balls.

The back 9 is definitely the harder and it will still punish you if you’re not careful.

For the price, it’s a decent course to play.

Course in pretty good nick - fairways very good, but greens had been spiked recently so putting was a bit of a lottery. Also, bunkers could do with a bit more sand.

The “academy course” is a small area with three par three holes - ideal for a pre-round warm up.

Asked about the driving range and was advised it was a short drive away!!!!!

All in all good value and an enjoyable day out.

Course in good condition well maintained nice to play if you haven’t played for a long time not to long but you need to hit it straight
