Wheathill Golf Club - Main Course

I enjoyed Mt time playing this course. Being new to golf this course is perfect. Fairways were open, good amount of hazards with out making it too hard. Seasoned golfers my find this course a little 'boring', but mid to high handicappers will love this.

Very friendly staff answered all questions when I arrived. Course conditions were challenging but considering the time of year and the amount of rain it was ok. Greens a little woolly but once again due to safeguarding the course. Will try and visit again later in year to play the dry course. Nice course overall and would recommend to play it.

Not a bad course at all. All staff in pro shop and the clubhouse were very friendly. The pro gave me a quick run down of the opening holes so I know where I was going. Course itself was good. Very waterlogged in places, to be expected though as I played the only sunny day out of about 7. The rain has taken its toll but that can’t be helped really. Nice wide open course with a couple more challenging holes. Greens were slow, but again mainly due the rain. I thoroughly enjoyed my round!

I did enquire what day of the month do they cut the grass as it was the worst condition I've experienced at a golf course. The length of grass on fairways and greens was shocking and good luck trying to leave a footprint in a bunker. Arriving nearly an hour before our tee time was insufficient time to give the golf clubs that I hired a quick clean according to the Pro, and the bag wouldn't have been accepted by a charity shop. Don't waste your money here, it's flat and uninteresting! No challenge or quality for serious golfers. Zoom in on the attached photos to see the length of the grass and state of the clubs.

What an amazing experience from the moment we arrived . We landed near an hour before t-off, kitchen still closed .

Not to worry the club pro said ! As we started the fourth , coffee and what I can only describe as breakfast heaven on a fresh hot baguette arrived with beaming smiles . My mates had no idea I had arranged this and were stunned by this spectacular gesture . You and your staff including the amazing bar ladies at the 19th were all the difference. Keep flying that flag. What a pleasure, we will be back ! Amazing in every way

Wheathill is a very well maintained course; the greens and fairways were in excellent condition considering the recent extremes of weather encountered these past few weeks. The greenkeepers have carried out some great work in keeping everything in top condition. I noticed that they've even applied fertiliser to the greens which can only help in improving the putting surface. The course is suitable for all abilities and is fairly moderate as regards difficulty.

I would encourage anyone to come and play a round on this course as it represents good value for money. I for one will definitely be back for another game.

Such a scenic course ! We played in icy conditions, the course played superb … managed four over on the back nine !! Twice went looking for an eagle on two par fours . Enjoyed every moment ! Wish the pup stayed open after 4 !

Well maintained course.

Plenty of variety of holes on course with water to play over/avoid. Hedges to play over as with and simple straight par 3 as well as wide long blind par 5 and your typical dog leg holes

Nice tidy course ideal for a quick round & not to busy

Played here several times as a visitor. Facilities aren’t grand but fine. Staff were very friendly. We had breakfast before playing. It wasn’t very good. The course is gentle but testing enough for me, with some interesting holes. Greens weren’t very good. I think they were recovering from being scarified and sanded but were very slow and needed a good cut. Still an enjoyable day (probably because I played quite well)

Great course to play especially for the price. Course is in good condition clubhouse is great.

Unfortunately the greens were being maintained so they were not very good to play on putting holes didn’t look like they had been moved for a week or two tee off areas were a bit worn out needed to be repositioned
