First timet
Lovely course very tight in places. The greens small but so true and receptive.we had a little bit of wind when we played which made some holes tricky. God knows what it’s like when it really blows!!
This course was fantastic
Despite not playing very well, I enjoyed this course very much. The quality of the greens, and how well looked after the course is really made the round good. I also liked how on several holes you were next to wildlife from the zoo, which was a nice touch.
Whipsnade
Greens were first class and fairways were what we expected. Presentation of course was excellent and staff were informative and friendly. Bar staff and catering were attentive and professional. The professional was extremely helpful and gave thoughtful advice. A very enjoyable experience.
Disappointing
Played with family and the first visit to the club.
The course is near to the village Dagnall and bordered by Whipsnade Zoo.
It’s a relatively new parkland course only 50 years old but has plenty of large trees throughout. The layout is very good and a fairly easy course (116 slope) for mid-handicappers to play.
The practice areas, driving range, chipping and putting greens were excellent. The bad points, fairways are rock hard, with burnt grass, completely dry and dusty. The tee boxes are probably the worst I seen on a golf course in many years, absolutely no irrigation!
I could not recommend the course in it’s current condition and it’s definitely not worth £50 for a mid-afternoon tee time.
Also it is quite disappointing that there is no information for visitors on the club website describing the current condition of the fairways and tee boxes.
Speed of play was amazingly good because hardly anyone was on the course!
Finally, on a positive note the lady in the bar deserves a big thank you, she was extremely welcoming, polite and friendly 👏
Whipsnade park golf club
Course is ok , staff are miserable and dis-interested .
Stuck in the past attitude.
Greens need attention.
Lovely course
Excellent golf course. Greens were in great condition. Some very challenging holes, any wayward drives were punished.
I would highly recommend Whipsnade Park, I will definitely play there again.
Staff and members were very friendly and welcoming
Excellent course condition
Enjoyed golf course and facilities. Greens were good maybe a little slow but true. Pace of play was excellent played 18 holes in just over 3 hours as a 2 ball. Would play again as excellent value for money.
Good course
First time playing and really enjoyed the round. Good pace of play and varied holes. Greens are very quick.
Great course
Played this late on a Saturday afternoon so course was empty and conditions were perfect. There is very little undulation so the course has been designed with a number dog legs and raised tees. Tree lined fairways are often narrow with the odd bunker to add to challenge. Greens were generally in excellent condition but 2-3 greens had small areas which need significant attention but the green keepers are aware and the holes were away from these areas.
I loved playing this course both for the challenge and fun of the golf as well as the delightful setting and abundant wildlife (plus the carcophany of sounds from the adjacent zoo). Will definitely be making a return trip.
great course to play in the winter, the holes had not a lot of variety but course played long
