Slow play by Captains 4 Ball today which caused such a big queue that I gave up after the 9th hole. Also the t-boxes were exceptionally dirty and untidy with dozens of discarded tee pegs

This course has always been a pleasant days play, the layout is good and the conditions are normally good, fairways and tee boxes were great however the greens are in need of some emergency care, there was a lot of moss growth and they were very uneven, think this may be due to the COVID lay-off. Don’t let this out you off as it’s still a great days golf!!

I had a great day on here the other day! It was my first time ever coming here and i'd love to come back. I seen a few comments about the bad state of the course and the pace of play. I must have been lucky that morning with nobody infront or behind for several holes. The cousre played well, very difficult with all the bunkers, the greens were fast which i liked but a bit bumpy from players that don't fix pitch marks. The guy at the desk and other players were friendly and the driving range was cosy awell! I had a very good morning! I will be back!

General condition of the course awful, I understand the situation post lockdown but still believe the problem is more endemic than this.

The greens in particular unplayable patchy and infected. The 18Th fairway runs alongside the range resulting in a potentially dangerous barrages you close out your disappointing day..

No protective fence at all !!!!

Very good as always, played here about 6/7 times now, always in good condition. Greens were a little diseased, but running true.

Considering the course has just opened its fair to say this is in very poor condition. The greens are terrible, bumpy and patchy grass. The fairways are in passable condition but nothing special. Some of the landscaping seems to have been cut back for no good reason I can see. Still a lot of GUR areas. Worst of all, the pace of play at this course is consistently abysmal. After 6 holes we ended up in a queue which continued all the way around. They either just offer too many tees here and or there is a major issue with the standard of players it attracts. Either way it’s a crying shame as the course has so much potential. Beautiful setting and you’d think being a de bere it would be in their interests to sort these things out. But you can’t blame covid as it was like this before. As it is, hard to recommend unless you set aside 5-6 hours and accept the greens will mean your putting is a lottery.

I used the hot deal on the 2nd day of golf being allowed back after lockdown - I got a great deal so excellent value but it was always going to be busy and a slow round.

The course was a very good length with some fun, tactical and risk/reward par 4 holes and a good number of par 5s.

Greens were very good in general.

Only question would be the course felt quite heavy/boggy in places and when I played it had been dry for a while. I would worry how it would play when wet.

Love this course and regularly play here. But the boggy mud was horrendous today... walk ways were thick, slippy mud slides.

Oh no winter messes with the course, but constantly having to be aware of your footing was quite draining and I'm surprised even trollies were allowed out today.

But greens in great nick and course is well laid out and a decent challenge. I do wish they'd install an air gun or boot wash to clean your shoes after your round though.

Its a bit sad as I have played at Wokefield many times, mainly during summer months. I wanted to get a last round in before the second lockdown and decided to give it a go. My first round this year as the prices have more than doubled since the first lockdown. The pro shop did advsie it was very wet on the course and they were right! The fairways and rough were sodden and some holes areas were like farmers fields. We did have very wet weather a few days before and I assume there had been lots of traffic on the course. The overall condition was poor from tee to green and whilst not too busy the pace of play was very slow! A tactical error on my part. Resort courses are well know for their lack of attention and maintenance compared to private clubs and some PAP courses. It boasts being championship course but that is where it stops!

We only play Tuesdays which is usually a good day here , not to many players . We enjoy playing here , great layout & high standard of course management .

This is a well laid out course with a good blend of easy to hard holes, it can be forgiving and brutal at times but makes for a good day out, even if you are a mid to high handy capper. It is obviously very popular which is the only big ditractor, had to wait for long periods for th guys ahead and then had the group behind breathing down our necks, tee’s and fairways were great but some if the greens needed some rest and care. Would happily play this again and probably will, just need to find a quieter day.

Staff were very grumpy which was not good start. Course was okay but patchy in places.

Great layout with some fabulous holes. Greens really good but not respected by players - unrepaired pitch marks. Fairways grass poor and patchy. Overall a very enjoyable round of golf, definitely going back.
