Wokefield Park Golf Club

On arrival we were told that it is the policy of Golf Now to

pair-up 2 golfers with 2 others & to book direct next time if we only wanted a round for the 2 of us.

Our time-off is precious & we are not anti-socail but object playing with others who may be of any satndard !

The course was in terrible shape. The greens were horrendous and pock-marked all over from birds or similar and your ball bobbled everywhere. The tee boxes hadn't been watered, sanded or seeded for months. The fairways were okay, but could have been in better shape.

The halfway house was closed, so the bar of the hotel could only offer small bottles (glass) of soft drinks.

All in all, I would avoid and go somewhere else

The green are in an awful condition, after such a long layoff how are they this bad? Tee boxes also need work.

all good some good holes nice walk green looked a little scabby but rolled very true worth a visit

The course layout is really good, bunkers are very well maintained just needs a bit more attention to the greens, they were a bit patchy but ran true. Overall a nice course.

5 hour round, back to back 4-balls with a group hitting into us every other hole. Not in a rush to come back.

Such a shame, it’s a really interesting course layout with some large well placed bunkers and plenty of water.

Greens need serious attention and they’re booking too many groups in back to back. We were behind a two ball that were directly behind two four balls, both us two balls gave up by the 14th!

Slow Play by Captain's 4-Ball In front made play far far too slow. So slow that I gave up half way round

Slow play by Captains 4 Ball today which caused such a big queue that I gave up after the 9th hole. Also the t-boxes were exceptionally dirty and untidy with dozens of discarded tee pegs

This course has always been a pleasant days play, the layout is good and the conditions are normally good, fairways and tee boxes were great however the greens are in need of some emergency care, there was a lot of moss growth and they were very uneven, think this may be due to the COVID lay-off. Don’t let this out you off as it’s still a great days golf!!

I had a great day on here the other day! It was my first time ever coming here and i'd love to come back. I seen a few comments about the bad state of the course and the pace of play. I must have been lucky that morning with nobody infront or behind for several holes. The cousre played well, very difficult with all the bunkers, the greens were fast which i liked but a bit bumpy from players that don't fix pitch marks. The guy at the desk and other players were friendly and the driving range was cosy awell! I had a very good morning! I will be back!

General condition of the course awful, I understand the situation post lockdown but still believe the problem is more endemic than this.

The greens in particular unplayable patchy and infected. The 18Th fairway runs alongside the range resulting in a potentially dangerous barrages you close out your disappointing day..

No protective fence at all !!!!
