Woldingham Golf course
Had a Hot Deal 🔥 at this club, plated for the 2nd time as 1st was in a society and rained most of the round
Course still in hreat condition quite forgiving for the not so straight hitters
Was Aerating the greens on the back 9 which did mess a few puts up but needed due to the amount of rain we have had lately but fairways in great condition
Staff were friendly food in spike bar was good a little on the expensive side food and drinks
good challenging course will definitely be back again
Thank you for your 5 star review!
A really lovely course situated n a picturesque valley. We played last week and enjoyed it so much that we returned again this week. Despite recent rain and some very heavy showers on our second visit, the fairways were in excellent condition. Thoroughly recommended.
Thank you for your 5 star review... hope to see you again soon!
Some lovely holes but ….
We all enjoyed playing and there were some really lovely holes but sinage was almost the worst I have come across in 40 years of playing. Sometimes we didn't even know whether we were on the correct tee as nearly every tee is bereft of info. It was really quite annoying and ought to be sorted asap
Thank you for your review. There is tee signage set into the actual tee as a lot of golf clubs do now to avoid clutter. We also sell course planners which contain a map of the course. Hope to see you again soon.
Lacking directions and hole indentifiers
This could have been a nice round. The weather was not bad and the condition of the course was good. It was our first time of playing there. However only the 17th hole had identification to indicate which hole it was we were playing and what the distance was etc. As newbies for this we had to ask other players on a couple of occasions where the next tee was and which hole we were playing. this spoiled an otherwise decent round. On returning to the clubhouse we were told that new signage was being made. However in the absence of this at least some form of identification temporarily should have been put on each teeing ground. also the course is very hilly and sloping and so it was rare to address the ball at the same level as ones feet, ie to have a lie where the clubhead could be flat. We won't retrun to this course this year and will see whether we do next year. A pity as it is a scenic course.
Thank you for your review. There is tee signage set into the actual tee as a lot of golf clubs do now to avoid clutter. . The 17th is slightly different given the raised tees so that you know, before walking up the steps, which tee is being used that day to allow club choice. We also sell course planners which contain a map of the course. Its a shame you are not looking to return but hope you change your mind.
Woldingham Golf Club
We booked a four ball with 1 pm time for twenty pounds through Golf Now. This represent excellent value and is available to book most Sundays two weeks in advance.
The course played well despite the wet weather for the preceding week. The rough was challenging to play from but greens and fairways were is good condition despite the weather.
I would recommend this course, but play was slow due to a lack of marshal on the course in the afternoon.
Thank you for your review. Hope to see you again soon.
Great course for all abilities
I’ve played this course three times now, and I’ve been impressed every single time.
Most recently the bunkers were out of play, but due to the rain and the green keepers taking time to try to improve the current conditions, not a negative as was notified by a lovely lady at pro shop.
The only occurrence I find is that some groups who are playing slow won’t allow you through, especially if they’re a 4 ball.
It took us 4.25 HRS as a 3 ball, down to a 2 ball after 9 holes.
Review
Pace of play really slow 4.15 hours, and only played 14 holes, gave up in the end. Such a shame because it's a really good course
Thank you for you comments and pleased you enjoy the course. Sunday was an especially busy day with mostly 4 balls. We did not time anyone in over 4hrs 30mins but would encourage you to try and get another 2 people to play with as inevitably there will mainly be 4 balls playing at weekends. See you again soon!
Thank you for your review.
Great VFM !
Great value for money. Course was busy but it was only 48 hours after the Ryder Cup so no complaints. It was also very windy but who to blame?
The buggy paths and bunkers were in poor condition though. Way too many big stones in the bunkers & on the paths. So unnecessary. The back 9 is more enjoyable & in better nick but overall a lot of fun and excellent value.
Thank you for your comments and glad you had fun. Our bunkers are regularly stone raked and are in good condition.
Thank you for taking the time to review us... hope we can get 5 stars next time you visit,
Terrible
The course was in good condition but it’s a shame we couldn’t see it all. We tee’d off just after midday and the round was so slow, queues on every tee box, multiple groups on every hole.
It took us over 3 and a half hours to get thru11.
When we got to the 10th there was 4 groups waiting, we spoke to the club house who said they would send out a marshal but nobody came.
We left after 11. A member behind us said it was a regular occurrence and the club house even called him to say he might want to move his tee time earlier that morning.
Course isn’t cheap so you don’t expect this. No marshal at the start or middle.
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the condition of the course. We are disappointed however you felt the pace of play was slow. We have a starter and marshal out on the course because weekends are very busy and most groups play in 3 or 4 balls. We hope you will come back and play again in the future!
Interesting and picturesque course with impressive clubhouse
First impression is an imposing clubhouse set against 2 sides of a valley. Most holes have interesting slopes and undulations with nice views. Fairways at times a bit patchy but greens very good. Facilities were good including driving range (irons only) and nice spike bar and terrace. Staff friendly. Pace of play decent and 2 x 4 balls of friendly members let my 2 ball play through. Good value and was a good find.
Thank you for your 5 star review. Hope you can visit again soon.
Great Course In Perfect Condition
What a course first time I have played it in a while, but it did not disappoint !!
Thank you for your great review!
Amazing value!
I have played this course before but I can honestly say that this is the best condition that I’ve ever played it in. Every element was on point, the fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were all great and the greens were running nice and quick. Managed to get it book it on a hot deal so it only cost £21 which was an absolute steal. In addition, it wasn’t overbooked, we literally went round with no one in front of us!
Thank you for your great feedback!
Shorter than normal
Let me 1st say , the course is in good nick. Good tee areas responsive greens and fair rough. Only issueviscthat Whites and Yellow tees are playing in most cases at least 20 yrds forward. The coursevis not long so a bit disappointing that it is even shorter at the moment. Some work to 8th tee means that hole is even shorter. The loss or reduction of the bunkers in front of 9th and 18th make the approaches a lot easier. May be the bunkers have been reduced a bit too much. Not sure the HI for this course is correct as 130 off the whites seems a little high especially when not playing full length. However, after all that, still a pleasure to play and the 9th is also a pleasure.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We do have to manage the teeing areas to avoid wear and tear. Hopefully you come back again soon!
Leave it a week
Give it a week before you play. It has always been a bugbear that courses dont tell you that they will have treated the greens when you play. Ma yvgreens were covered in sand which made it difficult to putt. Very disappointing.
But when grown, this course is very good. Bar a couple of token holes on the back 9, it is well laid out, varied in hole type and design and a challenge for all levels.
Thank you for your comments. We undertake our seasonal greensworks twice a year and the greens are rolled and cut each day after so they are almost as good as they can be.
Thank you for your 5 star review!
