Pleasant, easy woodland course with good greens but watch out for dog walkers
Pleasant woodland 9-hole course, that plays easy in summer. Good greens and well maintained. Layout a bit tricky especially around third, where you have to cut around the sixth to get to the tee and then the third par tee shot crosses across the sixth fairway. 1st/10th and 7th/16th have very different tee positions. There are a lot of dog walkers crossing throughout the course, some observant but some oblivious of the golfers. Very friendly staff and members and even a celebrity was in the bar.
Great value for Money
played the summer conditions last week. Course was in fantastic condition and excellent value. I got 18 holes for £10. Don't be put off that it's a 9 hole course you play twice, it offers different tee placements which changes certain holes up, and is also a decent test of skill. greens are a good size, staff and golfers are all friendly. Great course.
Lovely little course .
Played here a few times , and never really had a problem with the pace of play . For a course that is played on a lot , it is in quite good nick . If you hit a ball straight , it should be easy , but there is an imperfect lie everywhere ! Nice place to play golf
Affordable and fun
Overall it was great - only issue is the layout and lack of signs, got lost a few times. The course is well looked after and the greens are beautiful (and quick!)
Below average golf course
Not such a bad design and layout, some longish walks between hoiles but poor condition. To be fair the weather had been awful leading up to the day but the farways paricularly were in poor condition
excellent 'Golfnow hot deal '.
Played here many times. Course remains in super condition. I don't think the deal can be beaten for value. Friendly small clubhouse over road from the carpark. Only limited practice facilities stop me giving full sweep of 5 stars.
Weird and wacky course!
Won’t be playing here again in too much of a hurry. Firstly I followed the directions from the link in Golf Now app and this took me to the wrong place and so ended up in a car park surrounded by flats! So beware any first timers looking for this course and following the address listed. Think Golf now should maybe address this really?? Secondly the course is the most odd set up I’ve ever encountered. It’s too loops of the same 9 holes but from different tee positions which isn’t the end of the world but does become a problem when you have other golfers playing the same hole as yourself. Ended up playing the entire front 9 with a complete stranger (who happened to be a really nice guy) but this isn’t something you are really prepared for when you come. Also a lot of the holes are on top of each other and so it all feels very tight indeed. This course would probably be better off staying as a 9 hole course only so that you don’t have to worry about other players teeing off from other places on the same hole as you. Very very confusing otherwise. One good thing were the greens which were fantastic! But still this course is not for me unfortunately. Also so easy to get lost as signage is pretty poor. And lastly but not least are the sheer amount of dog walkers and casual layabouts on the course. Had people picknicking in front of tees and half naked sunbathers blaring out music from their ghetto blaster . All very off putting when trying to tee off. Overall experience was pretty low probably one of the worst I’ve ever played at
Excellent
Great round of golf as always. Best value for money in London. Excellent greens. Some tight tee boxes, great for a good iron striker. No bunkers, but the course is challenging enough without.
It's a 9 hole course with different tees
It was not a great course, it only has 9 holes and 2 sets of tees for the same hole. plenty of fairways crossing each other and not well signaled so easy to get lost if it's your first time.
you also have plenty of people walking dogs, etc who completely disregard the fact they're on a golf course.
There's plenty of better courses for the same price.
I dont intend to return.
Steady Course @ Woodford
Overall great playing conditions, but as the course is made of 9 holes into 18 it is not a long course, that is why there are no course facilities. I would recommend to friends and for beginners as some holes are challenging when others are quite easy to reach.
Great
Enjoyed my round here. Played on a hot midday in June. Course was very quiet and greens were very good. Staff very friendly and let me tee off earlier.
Lots of public on the course sitting on edge of fairways, very brave of them. Had an issue with some teens mucking about on the green - not the clubs fault but a shame as there was some damage near the cup.
Lovely course
Really good 9 holes course. Beautiful fairways and greens, very well maintained. Lots of dog walkers and young kids dotted around the course but, never a big issue
Very Slow
No one at the course or shop to provide scorecard and provide parking
We had a 07:50 tee off which was good but when we started the back nine the club members were starting all old so play was slow as they were looking for their golf balls that went in the trees. We asked if we could go through, they said no as they were members and that they were in a competition for nine holes. Greens could be cut better and I understand the 9 holes course but as it’s so small you would think that the greens and fairways would be better looked after. As it’s very local I will still use but the members have to stop being snobs
Great play at Woodford Green
Great Saturday playing golf and the course was in great condition. Pace was fantastic no waiting and weather was great too. Only wish that there was a half way hosue.
Lovely course
Really nice 9 hole course which can also be played as an 18. Very well kept greens and you can’t go wrong for the price.
