Great Course
Desire terrible weather, the course was both challenging but playable. Greens were in mint condition despite heavy rain and lots of players. Will definitely be back.
Fab challenging course
Shame about the rain ! But a fab course and some really tricky holes. Some of the tee signs could be better
Stunning scenery
Beautiful course amidst stunning scenery. Very welcoming on our arrival. The course was in immaculate condition and the hilly terrain was quite testing. Overall very enjoyable and would definitely recommend to all handicaps
Very demanding
A lot of hanging lies and tough approach shots, course plays a lot longer than the yardage suggests.
INTERSTING CHALLENGE , GREAT VIEWS!
One to play for sure , hilly, challenging, quirky!
Wrekin - Great topography
Some stunning holes, great view, a little muddy in places but what to expect in the winter!
First time out
Very enjoyable round after the second lockdown
Nice layout with some great par 3’s and some tough par 4’s
An interesting track with tight target greens!
The Wrekin is quite a spectacular course with an amazing topography. Adding to the challenge of tricky elevated greens surrounded by drops offs , they are also small target greens! A muddy in places but the greens we in great nick for the time of year, true and fast.
Good greens
Nice course with challenging holes. The greens were nice to play on.The only issue I had was some of the greens were on top of the next tee and ,you need to be aware
of players teeing off(two tee shots directly over the previous green).Unfortunately near the end of the round i came close to being hit from someone’s tee shot and no call given to make me aware.I feel more signage on certain holes would help to maintain safety around the course
Great layout
Played the course for first time on a dry October day. The condition of the course with regard to fairways and greens was excellent. I really liked the variety of holes together with the change in elevation. Although the course par was only 66 with no par 5s, the course did not feel especially short. Par 4s were a good length( 4 >400yds) and often tree lined but not too tight.
In summary very nice course to play with great views
The Wrekin
Not just a short course, but it's got tricky and slick greens. The views are also brillian
t
As we approached the first tee it was being watered we had to ask the green keeper to switch it off so we could tee off. Every subsequent tee we came to was dripping. The state of the greens we’re deplorable yes it was a works week for the course the the green keeping staff preceded us on every hole. After 9holes we had enough and went in the price we paid for this course in the state the green were was a total waste of money
Excellent Experience
On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite the fact the greens had been dressed, so sand slowed down the pace, in every other respect it was a challenging and very interesting course to play.
All of the members we met , both on the course and in the clubhouse afterwards went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Will definitely be going back their again.
Amazing Course
Whilst it appears a low yardage, it certainly didn’t feel like that walking off the 18th due to the many ups and downs.
The course was spectacular with great views and in excellent condition. Will definitely return.
Would recommend a power caddy / buggy for those who would struggle carrying or pushing a trolley up steep hills.
