50/50

The Bay side is in need of attention. The Marsh side was quite nice. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Hope the Bay side gets some attention.

This was a poor play for a golf course I’ve played in cow pastures that was better than this place

A lot of potential

Played this course for the second time today and met Ashton Crowe the head pro there who explained to me the plans for the future of this course. He did a great job managing pace of play and all of the staff is super friendly. Some of the conditions on a few holes weren’t great but as a mid level golfer just looking to go out and have fun you can’t ask for more.

A lot of potential

I’ve played this course twice now and I’ve had a great time on both occasions. The views here are amazing and the staff is very friendly. I met Ashton Crowe today on the course, the head pro here, and he did a really awesome job managing pace of play and explaining what the future for the course will look like. The conditions of the fairways and greens weren’t the greatest but for someone who’s just looking to go out and have a fun round for a good price I recommend this course.

Course has gone down hill

Unfortunately this was once a nice course —seemed like they were going to put some money into it to get it back to good condition but apparently something happened because the course is the worse I have seen in the area. Would not recommend it for any price.

Liking more and more

Fazio layout is a treat. In line with other reviews the Bay course has some rough spots on a couple of holes but improvements in process. The Marsh course is really a good play. Some great holes. Good conditions. Great pace of play. Heat and dryness always a battle this time of year in FL for the turf.

Will continue to play here.

Fun course amazing staff

The staff is some of the best I have encountered playing golf. They seemed genuinely excited that you were there playing golf at their course! The back 9 is fantastic and they have a plan in place to fix the front 9. The greens one the front 9 aren’t perfect but they are doable I didn’t find much issue with it messing up my putts. I look forward to seeing them improve the course and even in its current state I the price is very fair considering most course nearby are $70-$80 a round. I make it point to visit this course whenever I am in the area!

Very Nice Layout

3rd round here. I love the layout. Bay 9 has a couple of rough spots on hole 6. The Marsh 9 exceeds expectations and very pleasant to play. If you enjoy leisure pace of play and don’t need PGA conditions you will find BW Golf well worth it.

Not much to recommend

Course staff is awesome but the course itself is in need of a straight overhaul. I understand that there may be an issue with irrigation but when you find more sand on the fairways than grass, well for a golf course, that’s a problem. The layout is not the best having to drive a few blocks to the first tee was a rude awakening, proceeding to travel through parking lots to in between housing was a complete fiasco. I get it, not very expensive, nothing close to your back home country club but wow it shouldn’t be in that bad a shape, no golf course should be.

If you are looking for a great picturesque course on the water to both enjoy and be competitive, keep looking. You get exactly what you pay for on this course. Set your expectations levels extremely low and you might find some fun within your group.

This course was in very bad shape

Myself and 2 friends were on vacation in Destin and wanted a decently priced course to play. While the price is good at $40 for 18, it was quite literally the worst golf course I’ve ever played.

All of the greens were completely dead with weeds growing in them making them almost unplayable. We played the blue water bay course for the first 9 holes.

We started on the marsh course for the 2nd 9 which seemed to get slightly better, but at that point we were so disappointed we left.

Not worth it at the moment

This course is in bad condition, no other way to say it. Unless you can play for free, it’s hard to justify any price if you have more than a 10 minute drive. The guy at the pro-shop told us it was rough before we started, the starter was very friendly, making the staff the biggest plus of the course. The area that was formally the driving range was sold and is now houses, so no warming up besides an alright putting/close chipping green. The tee boxes are either overgrown or sand. The fairways are rough at best, weeds and dead spots on most every hole. The greens are abysmal, they are either dead or dying. One par 3 was a dirt tee box that looked like they placed the markers wherever they fit, and a dirt green. The layout isn’t bad with some potential for it to turn into a genuinely nice course if maintenance improves exponentially. New ownership brings hope that they can turn the course around.

TLDR: Unmaintained and frustrating to play. Great and friendly staff. Not worth making a far drive too. Potential to become a good course if new owners put some real effort into bringing the course back to life

Meh course

Greens in rough shape. Back nine better than front.

Tee boxes need work as well. Only $40 so affordable but you get what you pay for.
