Greens in really good shape. Great views of the bay. A little tight, but fair. Great value for the cost.

Great value course

I have played here each year on vacation (4 times total) in June of ‘18 and ‘19. For the money, this is a fair course at a fair value. Fairways are in good condition. Greens are a little slow, but getting better each year. The tee boxes still need some TLC, but all are playable. Overall, there is nothing to complain about for the price and age of the course. If you want a relaxing, scenic and decent place to play, don’t hesitate. Otherwise, spend an extra $50 and play in pristine conditions on the Destin peninsula. You definitely get what you pay for in Destin, but this is a true little gem for the $$$.

Tee boxes need work

I live locally and play it regularly because they allow you to walk after 3 pm. Greens are generally pretty decent. Tee boxes are not great at all. I’m not sure why they aren’t Seeded or overseeded to keep grass. 7 out of 9 tee boxes need grass

Could not actually putt greens. They were too slow. Other than that I would rate it as average at best

Not too bad, condition wasn't as bad as reviews suggested

After reading reviews I was expecting pretty bad green conditions, but surprisingly they were playable. Not perfect, but considering the cost of the round they were good. Tee box were basically sand, but not the end of the world if you tee up.

It was sunny and I wore a long sleeve athletic shirt to protect me from the rays. Shirt didn't have a collar, but they let me play anyways. (It's 2019, clothing styles have changed, collared shirts still required? loosen up people.)

Staff was friendly.

AWFUL - Should be called Bluewater Goat Pasture

Looked around online and found this course - website photos made it look pretty decent for the price. Upon arrival we noticed that the practice green was brown which was the first sign that we should have just turned around. The first tee had no grass - it was so bad we contemplated playing the ladies tees since it had grass. In general, the course was more brown than green. Putting surfaces were less than “good.” One star rating for course condition is more than generous. I would have rather spent $80 on fireworks as that would have been a better use of money. As someone who works in the golf industry, it shouldn’t be long until this course closes for lack of play.

Staff was very friendly though.

Best Value in the area

Bluewater is a great value. While the course isn't in pristine condition, its better than most in the area, especially with the green conditions in Destin, where you will pay much more for far worse conditions. Bluewater developers recently contemplated closing the course and developing the land, so they backed off a bit on maintaining the course. Hopefully that will change now that they decided to keep it operational. The fairways are in decent shape; but there are a lot of brown spots. Greens are a bit slow but roll true. Rough needs a lot of work, as it is growing wild, so no first cut, second cut, as you would normally expect. Bay course greens experiencing some green rot, so only Lake and Marsh are open. And, you can't beat the price. If your are looking for a premiere course to play, go to Kelly Plantation and pay the $140 tee fees.

Good value, decent course at best

This course definitely needed work. They had a youth tournament happening which wasn’t posted & they were going to make us play the same 9 twice... had to fight a little to let us go on after the youth tourney but they let us on.

Course was playable and is perfect for someone who’s going to play for the first time or is not an avid golfer. Greens were spotty and definitely weren’t in top condition — far from it.

But for the hot deal price we paid, you can’t beat it. If you’re looking for a cheap round of golf to relax on vacation & just have fun, this is perfect for you.

Not worth the trip.

Course not in good condition. Some fairways not mowed, others had very thin grass. Greens were slow and bumpy. Putting was hit and hope.

Bad... Then good

There are 3-9 hole courses... We started on the Lake course, then went to the Marsh course. The Lake was TERRIBLE! The first tee box is almost a "Sand trap" (hardly any sold dirt with no grass!!).... The course c condition is disgusting (leaves debris, bad fairways, just OK greens) ... The Marsh course was in much better shape, but just "Average" for what a golf course should be.

I can not reccommend. ... PS: I also drive from Destin to visit this course and had to pay 2- $4 ROLLS ($8) !!.. Beware!

Cow pasture

The course is in extremely poor conditions. Starters didn't mention anything about tee boxes, fairways, and greens either missing grass or completely filled with weeds.

This course probably was in the worst conditions I've ever seen.

Deceptively Challenging

Fairways were fantastic, but several greens had some bare spots. The cart paths were horrible though. Lots of big bumps. There was also a big lack in signage. If you’ve never played here or live in the subdivision, it’s almost impossible to know where to go. They need to add signs along the road to direct you to the other courses and even holes. Overall though the course was fun to play.

Would recommend it to others, but definitely has some areas that could be improved

Pretty good course

The course was in ok shape. If you have never played here it is three 9 hole courses. The Bay course is currently closed. None of the greens were bare but several rolled rough. Fairways had alot of sandy areas but were easy to hit from. Good price if you get the hot deal. I'd play here again. Staff was very friendly, cart boy met us at our car when we pulled in and we loaded our clubs right up and drove to the clubs house.

My 2¢

Not really sure why I am bothering to leave a review. It is just like the others and it will get the same form letter response. But I will give a shot anyway...

This reivew is only for the Marsh and Lakes Course. The Bay Course is still shut down.

It is clear that if you look at the previous reviews, this has been the case for some time now. Each review gets the same generic response that they take it seriously. Blah blah blah, they know that the tee boxes are crap, at times it may be difficult to have a good lie in the "fairway", and that the greens are hit or miss. The fact is they don't care, people still play here because they have accepted it for what it is. I mean, I read the reviews and played anyway. I knew what to expect and was not disappointed.

Pace of Play: Good, course not crowded

Course Conditions: Fair, tee boxes (poor)

Staff Fiendliness: Great, both the pro-shop and grill

Value for the Money: Average (wkday, not wkend rate)

Course Layout: Average (Marsh is better than Lakes)

Off Course Amenities: Good (Grill)

Overall, it was a good experience because I knew what to expect.

But please drop the chirade, you are not doing anything about the issues that people are pointing out. If your were serious about it, I am quite certain you could have grown grass on the tee boxes within the last 3-6 months.

So, if you are reading this review and then you go and play, you have no reason to complain
