Bluewater Bay Resort - Magnolia Course

If you are looking for a course with DEAD fairways, greens, and tee boxes then look no further because you have found what you are looking for. Worst conditions I've ever seen at any course in the area.

Ask the counter attendant about the course and after MUCH COMICAL comments, he said, " you get what you pay for"....AFTER WE HAD ALREADY PAID. To begin with we were behind a "REGULAR FIVESOME known as the gangal"and never once asked if we, a TWOSOME, wanted to play thru.....after 7 holes, we THEN got behind a twosome, SOMEHOW, for 2 holes then they disappeared. 2 holes later we got behind a threesome, that were TERRIBLE, and had to stay behind them until we finished as they never asked us to pass thru. There were no marshals to be seen. The fairways are "ok", teeboxes unmowed and without much grass, and the greens are horrendous. Needless to say,we'll NEVER play here again and won't recommend it to anyothers....BTW, after many years with Golfnow, this is my FIRST REVIEW...AGAIN, it was AWEFUL.

This course has received many poor reviews of late. It is true that the greens are much in need of improvement. They are slow and bumpy with some bare parts. The tees could also use some grass, but you are at least using a tee. The layout is interesting and the fairways are fairly narrow with trees lining most, and out of bounds on both sides of all holes. There are also several water hazards in play. There are also many dog keg holes that require some precision to be a position to approach the greens. This course has much potential if they can just improve the greens significantly. A fun time can still be had if you have the right attitude going in.

I’m never going back. I’ve played this course (both the bay and marsh) twice now and it’s a waste of your money. It is sad too. Absolute waste of such beautiful views. The entire course is a sand trap and the greens weren’t good. Layout it insane. You’re going to spend more time on a golf cart driving through the neighborhoods trying to find where to go. It’s spread out and the layout doesn’t make sense. Every hole is someone’s back yard. Lots of distractions going on. The views are beautiful on a couple holes but just not worth it when so many other courses around are better for the price.

Like the layout but too bad they don't take care of the course. Greens bad. High weeds in roughs. Fairways not bad. And the restaurant has been closed for months. Staff is friendly. Price is cheap so if you aren't looking for a well maintained course, you will be fine here.

I really enjoyed playing the marsh course. It’s a nice break from these other ball trap north FL golf courses. The layout of the course was pretty creative and it conformed well with the surrounding neighborhood. Fairways were in great condition and some of the greens were better than others. My only real complaint is that they didn’t have a driving range. So my first few holes were basically my warm up.

I last played this course when the new owners took over and was giving them the benefit of just starting. However, the course is in worse condition now. The Marsh 9 holes is the worst I"ve ever seen them, and a number of the Bay 9 holes greens were just as bad. Definitely would not recommend and will not return myself until I hear it has turned around.

I played this course right after it changed hands to a private group. The course was in need of help then. Since then the Marsh course is the worst I have ever seen it, and a number of the greens on the Bay are terrible too. I will not return to this course unless I start hearing that it has turned around.

Great layout and many challenging holes but condition of the course was disappointing, at best. Very friendly staff. Poorly stocked pro shop.

There is not a driving range, so be prepared to be warmed up before you go. The Course is pretty spread out but they do have some good signs pointing you in the right direction. Try 9 first, then if you decide to play another 9 it shouldn't be a problem. The staff was very friendly.

Staff were friendly. Looks like the greens are being worked on, right now they are in poor condition. Lots of water. Had some challenging holes. At this time I would wait for the greens to heal before playing this course again.

I was able to play as soon as I arrived. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course has a good layout, but was in need of routine maintenance - mowing tees, lack of water, some rough spots on greens. It was under new management by the golf community, so perhaps these issues will be addressed.

Been playing here every time I come down and this will be the last time. Each year it has the course has went down and it was especially horrible this time. After booking there was no mention of playing the front 9 twice due to the rest of the course being down. No discounted price offered. The course was HORRIBLE a cow pasture would make a better course. The greens were brown and the tee boxes had NO grass. The worst part is I left my range finder there and when I called back the next morning they said they would look for it and didn’t my info so I had to call back and give them my info. This place has went down hill a lot and is in desperate need of staff who are actually clean and are repeatable. I hope this gets to whoever needs to see this and cleans house and gets the place looking better

Course is amazing. Have to buy food and beer from the pro shop now that mulligans is gone.

Bluewater was in unplayable shape. 6 greens had grass on them, and the rest were awful. Nothing was mowed and the tee boxes are unrecognizable. We feel badly for the gentleman at the front desk who was very welcoming and apologetic for the greens. It is a waste of time and money to play this course at the present time. So sorry to see another potential good course go down the drain.
