Layout
This course is very confusing to navigate. The front 9 holes do not go in numerical order. Also my group got rained out 4 holes into our round and the course refused to give us a rain check
OK for First Tee play
Not my cup of tea. Greens very poor. Playing nine holes was enough for me,
Horrible.
You get what you pay for . This course is in a sketchy area of town. There were women off the street walking across the course . We kept having to stop playing to let them walk through. The greens weren't very well kept , it felt like you were hitting off of cement or pure dirt at times .
Enjoyed the course the fairways and greens are in good shape you can play nine or eighteen holes.
Really nice course
Love playing at Brentwood Golf in Jacksonville, Florida. Course is in decent shape & staff is very friendly & helpful.
Brentwood
A very nice course for practice rounds. Offers a challenge to the novice golfer
Direction problems.
Signs or hole numbers needs to be more visible, and this will prevent slow play.
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE
This course is too dangerous to play. Right in the middle of one of the worst areas in Jacksonville, you will be entering what it seems to be like a war zone. Gun fire can be heard anywhere on the course, and if you're unlucky enough like I was, you will be shot at just for playing golf. DO NOT GO TO THIS COURSE AND DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE EITHER.
cart issue
their new cart policy is off the rail with a surrendering of your DL is way to much . My personal information is in a strangers hands and could be stolen easily as the basket were it is kept is on desk under cart keys. ???
The explanation is plain stupid for this move, and I won't return for this very reason.
Have golfed here many times and have never seen anyone other than fellow golfers driving carts.
awesome
As always me & the guys from my church had an awesome time. Very relaxing
WON"T BE BACK
Some kids that didn't belong on the course were trying to steal peoples golf carts they were escorted out. The guys I got teamed up said this has happened before at this course. Just be careful and report anyone not golfing
Good little course
Poor golf etiquette for the golfers we encountered.
It was a struggle
I have played this course numerous other times, however today was painstaking, I was behind a foursome as I was a single. I waited many times thinking they would let me play through, wrong answer. I also come up on a gentleman with a disability, I waited patiently as they played their ball , not once, not twice or even three times , finally another gentleman accompanying him told me I could play through. All the while there were 2 players running up my back. After 9 holes I gave up. I don't think I will be back here for a while!
Decent value, but neighborhood is horrific.
It's a strange set up, I'm fairly new to serious golfing so maybe I just haven't seen a course like this before. They did a good job with the space they had available for a 9 hole course.
I'd play there again but I would not stop at the gas stations down the street, or anywhere within like 3mi of this place. I had a lady panhandle me for money, when I refused she made a racial comment, just a lot of run down businesses and unsafe looking areas surrounding it. Don't stop anywhere between there and 95.
Good value for your dollar
The course is in pretty good condition except the greens which with the lack of rain lately is understandable . It certainly is a very affordable course to play . I would recommend it for someone who wants to enjoy playing golf without the high cost involved with many other courses.
Value Golf Not Much More...Value non-the-less
This place is value golfing without question. Great place to practice your game due to the value. Not so much a destination place. However, if your on vacation it's a good course for your first round in order to work out the jet lag (except putting since many of the greens are presently toasted in the sun). The rating is strictly value based with a little bit of "feel good" knowing you support youth golf too.
Awesome for the Money
You can't get a better practice round in anywhere else for the money. The range, chipping green, and putting green was in great shape. Everyone of the employees were friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to sign my girls up for lessons.
good challenge
the course offers me a challenge wish so many workers were not always around feel like I am in the way off the work instead of the reason its done
Great value and fun course
it's a short course, but very fun. It's only 9 holes and then you play it back.

It used to be an 18 hole public course, but it was sold to a private owner to avoid integrating (allowing African Americans to play) during the 1960s. In the 1970s, the course was sold to the city to build a school and as a result half of the course was torn down. https://www.brentwoodgolfcourse.com/brief-course-history/
