Bent Creek Golf Course

About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

Better choices around Jax
Thought we would try Bent Creek after not playing here in a year or so. Should have waited longer.
The overseeded greens were painfully slow and don’t roll very good. The attention to detail with some simple things like where and how to place tee markers is serious lacking. Had several placed no more than 2 paces wide as well as having to stand in mud. Other markers were set on a downhill tier! All it takes is a little bit of training from the superintendent...
Sadly going to be a while before we come back. Too many other much better conditioned courses in the area for the same $$$$
You get what you pay for
I always enjoy my rounds at Bent Creek but don't come expecting a pristine golf course. In all likelihood you'll pay less than $30 to play and the course will not be in great condition. Furthermore since the cost is inexpensive many of the golfers are beginners so you will not have a fast round of golf. BUT if your expectations are tempered you will have a good time as the layout is interesting. Hole#11 and #15 are particularly challenging and worth the price of admission.
First time
Putting could have been better with a mow and blower. Pine straw everywhere and fluffy greens...
New Years Eve day
Took 4,5 hours to play 18 holes. Waited for 2 groups on each hole.
Pathetically poor conditions
Greens were the worst I’ve seen in a very long time. Probably a 3 on a stimpmeter, like a mortar field. Fairways were so bad I aimed for the dormant rough instead. I probably wouldn’t play this course again if it were free. Layout started okay but then all the holes looked the same - dogleg tight, water right. The only redeeming quality here was the traps - nice sand.
Great except the GREENS
I like the course, good layout and somewhat challenging. The only downside was the greens! They must have not been cut or rolled. I never had to hit my putter so hard in my life.
Christmas round
While cold windy and wet
The course was somewhat rough. Green were slow but had grass growing on them. Limbs and clutter needs to be picked up
Glad we did it on Christmas
Bentcreek review
Greens were slow. Fairways were good. From the back tees this course is a definite challenge.
Great day of golf
Greens where in really good shape for this time of year .... staff were Very Friendly ... some of the cart paths need some repairs
Shaping up nicely
The greens are showing improvement since my last review. They appear to be faster than they are though. Overall the course is in good shape.
