nice folks but cruel fairways
positive aspects: the prize to play, greens in good conditions,, teeboxes acceptable, short distances, nice staff, nice players
negative aspects: the fairways don’t deserve that name - nearly no grass, lot of cravel, sand and weeds, pace of play at the beginning was very slow, later half acceptable, no toilets
Good practice course
It's a good practice course. No real bunkers or water hazards. Greens were in ok shape. Golf carts are in good shape. Pace of play is slow seems over booked. I will use it as a practice course and or quick round with a friend.
First Timer
I love this little course. It's a little confusing since the cart path it's as clear as it could be. The sign does not not say which hole you are going to, it an be very confusing for a first timer.
Smiley in the office is fantastic .
I will play here again.
First on this course
This is a great little 9 hole course. Took my daughter who is learning and this place is perfect for that. She birdie the 2nd hole. Beginner's luck might be involved, lol. We'll definitely be back! Great staff!
Nice 9 hole facility
First the positives - the staff was extremely friendly and the cost to play was very affordable. The beverages and snacks were very well priced. The layout of the course was very forgiving yet challenging at times. The greens were in good condition considering the season and colder weather. The carts were clean and ran great.
The things that need improvement - Most of the Tee boxes were very chewed up with divots. Maybe add a bucket of sand on each Tee box. The pace of play was very slow and had to wait 7-10 minutes after every shot. It seemed as if the course was over booked because everyone was waiting and it killed the game play. The directions that were provided on the GN app was completely wrong and lead us in the wrong direction of the course. May need updated.
Over all good course and I will be a returning customer !
Great Public course for Beginners / Amateurs
18 handicap, love this 9 hole course as I think it’s a great value for beginners and most players. Real grass golf range with small and large buckets for 5/10$. 9/18 hole prices vary by season but are usually between 20-30$ w/ cart. Overall course is decently maintained and greens were better than most area of fairways. 2 par 3s, 2 par 5s, 5 par 4s. Fairly flat course with pins visible from tee box, occasional water to hit over or dogleg to go around.
No real clubhouse to speak of or bathrooms on the course itself but there is a bathroom indoors where you check in. Small trailer near putting green with basics drinks and snacks to check in and get going. No Marshall so pace of play has been hit and miss the few times I’ve went out. 4/5
Beginners Course
Kind of a wild west, no rules enforced feelingbat this course. Nearly all holes were straight down the middle with no real challenge. The players here fit the suit of it being a beginner's course. For anyone that shoots a 120 on 18 holes, I'd recommend they come here and learn to hit straight. For anyone under 100 on 18 holes, you should choose better than this. Also waited to tee off on each hole for groups in front. They were decent, just course too full. Pace of play - almost 3 hrs for 9 holes.
Good Value
Friendly staff.Good prices, relaxing decent pace. Course needs work but decent quality for the price!
Much room for improvement
This course needs a lot of work. Tees and fairways were not good, lots of bare dirt with some grass areas. Same with fringes on most greens. Most of the greens had a good cover of grass but 2 or 3 had weed issues. Greens were so firm a ball landing on the green left no divot and it usually ended up going off the back even on well lofted shots. I normally hit 65% or so of greens in regulation but today my percentage was near 25. Not a great experience and won’t go back anytime soon. I’ll stick with the other “budget minded” course in town.
Overall, pretty good.
One or two fairways and a couple of greens in rough shape...need some long term restoration. Other than that, course plays well. One thing nice about it being 9 holes, you can alter a strategy or correct a mistake the second time through. Don't get that opportunity playing on a 18 hole course.
Bang for your buck
I’ve played here a couple times. The greens are not in the best shape, but the course overall is pretty fun to play. I’m no pro but it’s not too difficult of a course. We had one of the first tee times so pace was smooth the first 9. Once we had to replay the 9 it got really slow because more tee times were played. I think it took an 1.5 hours for the first 9 then prolly 2.5 the second so def slowed up. Played from back tees first 9 then group wanted to do mid tees. Some holes weren’t too much of a difference but others seemed like they pushed the mid tees way farther than normal. I’ve played other 9 hole courses in Jax and this one is my favorite. If you don’t want to spend a lot but want a decent course this is the one. Staff is friendly, no cart girl or clubhouse really just a mobile trailer but for me not too big a deal.
Friendly staff & Great nine hole course.
Positive’s ~ Great value for a 9 hole course . The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The layout is pretty simple but yet challenging. The greens were in good condition considering how cold it’s been. The carts were clean and in good working condition. The snacks and beverages were reasonably priced.
Needs work ~ (1) The first thing I noticed was most of the tee boxes were in poor condition with divots and being un-level. ( maybe add some divot sand buckets at each tee box for players to use) (2) the pace of play on this particular day was the worst I’ve ever seen it. We had to wait 10-15 minutes after every shot and it got to be so frustrating we decided to leave before the end of our game. ( was the course overbooked? ) (3) No facilities on the course which is understandable for a friendly budget business.
Overall ~ Awesome staff! Great valued course and fun to play.
