Overall great course
First time playing this course, condition was generally in good nick throughout, tee boxes, fairways and greens all well maintained. Pace of play no issue as was playing in the evening. Quite a challenging but fair course with plenty of water hazards, deep out of bounds, shallow greens and narrow fairways on some holes and the infamous 90 degree dog leg on the 8th was a hole like no other for sure. Didn't use clubhouse facilities or speak to anyone apart from signing in so unfair to rate on those criteria. Overall I'd recommend the course to a friend and would play again - think £30, is probs just about fair to pay for 18 holes here.
Lovely golf course
First time playing here today, now to caveat all the good I’m about to say I have been used to playing Municipal courses. I only started playing golf around 4 months ago, so the course is challenging for a high handicapper but not too hard. The wildlife and course itself are stunning. The other players(members) on the course were all really friendly, and let me play through as a 1ball. The course is well managed and the staff were friendly. My biggest issue and honestly this isn’t anybodies fault, is I lost 3 strokes whilst putting from these big horsefly type bugs flying at me every time I’d be mid putt stroke, I’m convinced they’re only on the greens and know exactly what they’re doing. Would highly recommend this course to anybody who will listen.
great course
Great days golf , fairways in good condition greens 9/10 , there's 2 new driving nets to get you warmed up . the staff I'm the cafe area are friendly enough.
Highly recommend
Myself and my son have played several times we always enjoy the course. But we brought 2 friends with us and they are both members elsewhere but we’re Impressed with the course and especially the challenge of the greens which played really well. It’s a credit to all the staff at Berrington especially the green keepers. We will definitely be back with more company.
Fantastic course
I was told. About this course by a pal so booked in to give it a knock,
absouloutley cracking little course , played the last few Fridays and this fast becoming a regular favourite to play.
Highly recommended ( and the bacon and egg sarnies are top 🥓)
A good course.
Looking good. A little bit of TLC and this could be a fantastic course. Players need to repair pitch marks on the green. Well laid out and you need to think on this course.
David Attenborough’s back garden
What a nice course! Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed it and can’t wait to play it again!
Could have been 5’s across the board, with only a few tweeks in certain areas.
Think we got caught behind a 3-ball of members which had amble opportunities to let us come through but sadly they only looked back for the odd growl.
Winter tees let it down a bit, can’t wait to play the course for what it’s meant to be as the raised tees which we didn’t play from would make the place more picturesque (not that it was needed because I really enjoyed the setting).
Think the huge barn could do with some sort of sectioning for a pro shop as it was hardly used for the tables and chairs that were in abundance, it may be a case of not enough chairs when the course gets busier I don’t know, as it was my first visit.
All the wildlife along the way was a nice! Plenty of ducks and geese in the ponds, as well as a few moorhen families. I thought we was on a farm at one point when we got to a tee and there was a few cockerels and pheasants just roaming around.
Had a great day! Great course that requires good course management!
Surprised at the condition 😁
Played in the height of summer once before in a day event, was happy then.
But for the first days of spring, to see the greens and fairways in such a well kept order has shocked me for £25 per visitor, its clear they take care in what they do there.
Only down side was winter tees but it makes me want to revisit in a few weeks once the tees open, which are looking equally as cared for as the other areas of the course.
Great work from a course thats great value for money!
Excellent Course
Having played this course through the last few wet months it’s great to see how it’s starting to flourish with the warmer weather.
Love this place
Lovely course, always enjoy playing here, even in these wet times Friendly members and staff. Nice to join up with a young fella from my home town of Kendal. He took on the hero shot on hole seven and hit it to six feet! Look forward to playing here again very soon.
Good layout
Found this course good from start
Very wet but not lot courses not open to be honest so was lucky to have game.
Yardage markers on every hole
Good practice facilities
Short par 4's which makes it good for low and high handicappers.
Could be few improvements but overall very happy day of golf was lucky to get game.
Very affordable price aswell with golf now.
Lovely course
Very good condition for this time of year, a lot of temporary greens and every hole has winter tees as you are playing what they call the blue course, these makes the course much shorter but it was well sign posted to show you where to tee from and this obviously helps to keep the greens and tees in good condition for when they open, which is soon I believe. This course is great value for money, we played at peak time on a Saturday and enjoyed a round with a quick pace of play. Would recommend to a friend
