Kids on bikes

Not a bad course for a public course greens were very good

We had to play through two groups of young boys like 12 year olds nice lads by the way

What I didn’t like was the car park is not separate to the public play park so on a hot day like yesterday when all the parents bring their kids to the park it’s difficult to park so arrive well before your Tee time

The other thing was there were kids riding around on bikes as we got to one of the greens he was looking at me like he was going to ride across the green but I think the look on my face made him decide against it

You get what you pay for with public courses I will not ever use them again during school holidays

Overall not a bad course

Great course for the price

+s

- excellent layout; challenging and good variation in design

- course in good condition tee to green

- practice putting green nice and seemed to match course greens well

- range facilities ok

- friendly staff

-s

- v slow pace of play for our round. Possibly due to the groups ahead rather than a normal problem for this course.

- change room/toilet facilities a bit run down.

Course has improved

Course has improved since last year. Still needs improved. Greens were bumpy and not in a great state but still a great improvement from last year. I’d give the greens a 6.5/10

Walked

Not played here for a while

The course was in pretty good condition, although the bunkers were mainly out of action and need some attention. Enjoyed the round until we reached the 10th tee and 2 people were just teeing off who had stopped for a coffee and were starting again, but didn't look to see that we were coming up the 9th. I challenged them, but they were rude and told us to complain to the management. This attitude was i thought totally unacceptable and they were very slow, so we decided to play the front 9 again.

Golf now review

I searched for a tee time for Monday 5/5, then when I paid they sent me a confirmation for Friday 2/5 (tomorrow morning) which I can't make it to and is too late to cancel. Just took £62 from me that I can't get back. Be very careful booking through golfnow. I will certainly be booking directly with the course from now on.

The course needs a marshal as we saw two six balls and a five ball. Not very well run!

Horses for Courses

Any golf course in and around the London area for about 20miles will suffer from poor drainage as all the courses are build on clay. Cheshunt isn’t immune from this but copes with it fairly well. There are some boggy parts but not as bad as others but this time of year you have to move your ball at least a couple of yards for a decent lie. All in all it was a pleasant golfing experience, one which will only get better once the weather improves. I’ll definitely play again once the weather improves

Lack of management

Showed up, no obvious place to sign in. Pro shop closed so i just cracked on. Driving range, ball machine not working and couldn't find anyone to assist. Golf nets in a poor state of repair. Winter mats ok however grass tee boxes were dry and see no reason why they aren't in play. Seems a course run on a shoe string budget with insufficient resources.
