Cheap and cheerfull
Played here a load of times.
Course was still wet and transitioning from winter to summer. Mats in play in the fairway and mats for tee boxes.
Greens were rock hard and like concrete. Sand has been laid under to keep them dry. Hard to get a read as they look fairly flat but go like the clappers, took the dent off the round as I couldn’t sink anything.
For the price it’s decent enough.
The 1st has a big GUR which the drip zone is in the rough even though it’s half the fairway further down.
It’s always good for a little knock through and I will play again as the cost is good for what it is.
Very good condition considering rain we have had winter mats atm £7 a piece so bring with u.overall really enjoyable game
Winter Golf at Aberdelghy
During the winter months you do have to play mats on the fairway but the man in the pro shop was very accommodating and fair in letting you loan some. The course can get a bit wet but overall it’s alright. Greens are not the best (shoe and pitch marks) but the speeds are challenging and if golfers fixed these marks the greens would be top notch. Layout is generally okay with the back nine being slightly longer but the sixteenth hole is absolutely amazing.
Well priced available course
I've played Aberdelgy a number of times and I always find it well kept, (especially for a public course) friendly and well priced.
It's a short course with no par 5's, but that suits a lot of golfers who want to rattle round in under 4 hours and get on with their day.
The greens are always well maintained and consistent and with a few doglegs and water features, it still carries a threat for wayward shots.
Well worth a visit.
Brilliant value for money
At under £20 this full 18 hole course was brilliant value for money.
Course itself was well maintained and good mix of long and short holes. The members were respectful of fast play allowing myself to play through as a single golfer.
Only flaw was that the back 9 greens were aerated. Would have been nice to know this before booking or when signing in, Overall not a big deal tho.
There are practice nets and a driving range for practice before a round which was handy. Good shop for buying balls, tees and drinks etc.
Overall a great couse. Will no doubt be back again soon.
Great round
Course was in great condition despite a week of wet weather beforehand
Can't beat it for the price
Can't beat the course for the price but gets super busy so pace of play can take a hit.
Amazing Course
For 12 pound this course is incredible, amazing fairways and greens, great challenges and best of all always kept clean
Small Greens
I enjoyed this course for the most part of the round, the fairways and teeing areas were in good condition, but the greens were fairly quick and difficult to read, on top of that they were also very small, and made getting up and down quite tricky as I consistently put the ball over a lot of the greens. I enjoyed the layout of the course a lot and will definitely be back.
Not great
The course is council maintained and it’s just ok. Greens were bumpy and unpredictable but the layout is actually grand. Needs some investment
