Cobblestone Golf Course

Can get slow but playing decent pace today. Aerated greens two weeks ago not great but will be really nice in a month.

Course in good shape except for some heavy traffic areas. Ridiculous that four holes were cart path only. No obvious reason for it as the course wasn’t wet and they could have provided limited access points on all those holes. So including par 3s, that’s 7 holes you are walking in 90+ heat. It wore everyone out and slowed play. I appreciate that the water coolers were filled with cold water, which was very much needed. Greens were recently punched and sanded, and we knew that going in. It was a fun round, but brutally hot.

This is one of my favorite courses and I love playing here. We got the aeration rate and it was very fair and they threw in lunch! Only negative was the tee boxes needed some work and our cart died on hole 17!

Everything was great bout my round besides the cart girls. They came up to my group on hole 3 where we all bought drinks and said they would be back soon. Didn’t see them again until hole 17. Maybe w e should have just bought a lot at once but we did not since they said they would be back. Everything else was great, especially the free hotdog and drink.

The greens were aerated recently and sand everywhere. The price was reduced to combat that. Also everyone play this weekend got a complimentary meal/snack from the clubhouse for the same reason. Pretty awesome considering normally the charges to play is $55-70$. The range was packed so if your playing I suggest getting a small bucket, warm up, move on; the locals own the range.

My boyfriend and I played here, it is a beautiful course. The lake views are awesome! The staff was friendly, but as beginner golf players it was slightly overwhelming. We like to play at our own pace since we are still learning, we typically just drop in/play best ball things like that to speed up our pace when it’s crowded. We went on a Friday late afternoon and we’re set to tee off right on time. When we arrive to the tee box we were informed that we could not tee off because “the 5:40 group already left”. We were not aware that we would be grouped up with anyone, we had to meet our group at the second hole. This would have been nice to know ahead of time because we were really caught off guard, I also don’t know why they went ahead and started playing when the ranger knew there was another group coming, and we were not even late. Also, the group we were with were very experienced players, and it was honestly kind of awkward to play together since we were on such different skill levels. We played 2 holes together until eventually we decided that it would be better for everyone if we split up. I’m not sure why we needed to play with them in the first place. I wish we could have just started behind. We are considerate and let people play through because we know we are slow. That being said, after about 6 holes the crowd started to die down and we were able to be more relaxed and start playing at a pace that felt fun, and not like we were a nuisance to anyone. So overall I would say, if you are a beginner, maybe skip this course. Or just be prepared for all the things I mentioned. Everyone was extremely nice and understanding of the situation, but it would have been nice to just avoid the awkwardness all together. It would be nice if they have some sort of system of grouping people together based on skills, instead of just blindly making people play together. I would come back to this course though, I really enjoyed it. Its definitely a hard course but it was fun. Golf carts were nice and the employees were nice as well.

Course was being air rated, one side closed, lots of sand on greens. Still wasn’t bad! Too bad Golf now doesn’t let you know course condition, all in all nice course.

If you are scared of sand traps this is not the course for you, but if you like a challenge and fast greens I can’t recommend it enough!

I really enjoyed this course. The condition of the fairways, traps and greens were really good. I enjoyed the layout as the course ha holes where you grip it and rip it as well as holes where you need to hit the right shot. The greens were huge and challenging. The scenery was as get as it gets. The only issue I had was pace of play. First time playing and it seemed like the groups

In front of us we’re all beginners. I know the Marshall advised the groups to speed up but we had to wait to often and too long on many holes. I will definitely play this course again.

I thought I was going to go play at a nice course for Memorial Day weekend. Instead the following occurred today. First we weee paired with two regulars who had no patience for two people just beginning to play which is me and my wife. Second the golf cart got a flat tire after a few holes. We waited while the two regulars went on along with two other foursomes from behind. No big deal right was glad to be without the two regulars who didn’t have time for anyone. Now we were in between foursomes not holding anyone up and actually starting to enjoy the course. We caught up with the foursome but did not mind waiting and the foursome behind was no where on site. Then without warning the starter approaches us and tells us to skip the hole and go catch up with the two regulars we started with. By this point I was just ready to be done and complied with his demands. We want to the eighth hole and joined the two regulars who were now waiting! They of course are aggravated with us returning even though they were waiting on a threesome in front of them. We played the next two holes and just left. So much for 145 dollars and an enjoyable round. No offer to return our money or anything remotely that would say we value our customers. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Along with a dingus GM, but a good pro and decent staff members, this course has seen better days and better staff in days gone by. The facility used to be friendly and not so snobby. To play during the week (or weekend) for that matter, $61 is robbery. The value of the course (even as the industry pricing has increased) is still around $40-$5 for a public track. So many other courses in the area with better greens and amenities than this one for less.

Just throwing this into the mx as well b/c its more about the GM and not the staff, but I remember going into this place about 2 years ago and having my friend buy shoes, balls, while I purchased beer and food and the GM there berating an industry guy with the group b/c he said one of the other guys was not in the industry when he was. He was a local caddy but also was an LPGA caddy as well. Not sure why there was a problem b/c if PGA of America honors one, I feel they should honor all, or NONE at all. The Good Ol Boy system is a joke, but thats just an opinion.

As for the course, I wish I had photos to upload but the bottom line is that it starts at the top.

Fix the GM problem and you fix the rest.
