Cobblestone Golf Course

Only 9 holes were playable today and the greens have just been aerified. Nice time to practice your swing, but not not much fun to actually try to score. Didn't realize this was the setup for today or I won't have played.

This is my second time playing this course.

Like my first review, this course is the BEST PUBLIC course I have ever played and I have played a few of them.

It is the ONLY course (Publis, semi-private or private) that provide you with a complimentary HotDog, Chips and a drink when they aerate the greens which they were in the process of doing on this day.

I am giving GolfNow the 3Star because the course shut down the front nine and was only allowing play on the back which meant we had little choice but to play the back twice.

The clubhouse said there was a red-Alert notice on GolfNow that said they were aerating the greens and that the front nine would be closed. I acknowledge that I knew of the green maintenance and had no problem putting on the greens but overlooked the part about just one track being available for play.

I went back to GOlfNOw and the notice is indeed there in fine print under Tee-Time Notes that you have to DIG for.

GolfNow could have EASILY made the Red color Alert a hyperlink or pop-up box to display that information because HAD I realized that, I would NOT have play for that reason alone.

The course is just over an hour from my home so not playing was not really an option to consider.

I hope GOlfNow will read this review and make that modification.

As for the course, you will NOT be disappointed.

For the record my final cost was $44 with tax and GolfNow fee. The regular price is about $61 plus tax and GolfNow fee. Do keep in mind that my rating is for THIS day 8-3-2020 only and I suspect on another day I can easily give them a 5Star review across the board.

Cobblestone was great value for the money we spent. It was incredibly organized for a public course with the starters keeping groups on pace. The Range was also great and a nice pro shop.

Poor tee time management and course gets backed up. Also tried to pair someone in their 30s with 3 others who are at least in their 60/ 70s. Was hit into multiple times.

First time I played this course it was amazing. This was second time playing out there and probably my last

Course was in great shape. Fairways, greens all looked good. However, it seems the COVID months have made players forget how to take bunkers. That said, a little more sand wouldn’t hurt.

Overall, I enjoyed the course and will definitely play there again.

Heard a lot about this course. It was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. Entire course was cart path only, which obviously created really slow play. Not worth the 50 minute drive each way. But good course....

Course lays out nicely and is challenging without being unfair. Surprisingly picturesque as several holes are along the lake. I will play again soon and play from the blues to make it play a bit longer.

Course was in great shape and always is when I play there. Pace was good. Definitely recommend it.

The course itself has a beautiful layout. It is very hilly and shots can be difficult to plan out. Greens were nice and rolled true. Only downfall was the staff continued to work using blowers and mowers during tee shots. They acted as if there were no golfers on the course.

The course was in great shape and beautiful being right by Lake Acworth, but the pace of play was terrible. I am unsure if it the layout of the course (a lot of Par 3's and short Par 4s back to back to where you had to wait for the group ahead of you to complete the hole before teeing off) that causes the back up or having tee times closely together. We would drive up to the tee box to then find the group in front of us waiting for the group in front of them to clear. Also, the group in front of us started off as a group of 3 and by the last seven holes (payed 18) had a group of 6.

I play this course once or twice a month. The conditions are always pretty good, the staff is friendly and give off a professional vibe. Practice facilities are great and greens are above average, a little on the slower side but still fun and roll true.

PACE OF PLAY

I don’t know what it is about this course, it seems like tee times are so stacked that it’s almost impossible to get a round in under 4 hours. The past 4 or 5 rounds I’ve played have all been beyond 4 1/2 hours. It doesn’t make sense because there are marshals constantly patrolling the links. Today I just couldn’t bare it anymore, I left at the end of 14. At 14 we were at 3 hours and 45 minutes. From the 5th hole on, we waited for every shot yet a marshal came by and said, “Idk what your waiting on, fairway is open”, when I could clearly see a foursome 250 yards in front of us...

Golf could grow so much more if 4+ hours wasn’t a norm. Get these slow groups to allow faster play to move ahead. Put GPS on the carts for them to be monitored by marshals or something!
