Cobblestone Golf Course

I will keep it simple. I will rate each aspect of the golf course from 1-10 with 1 being the worst I have played and 10 being the best.

We were playing this course 50 miles away to prep for a tournament qualifier, hence the long drive.

Range - 2/10

Practice areas - 2/10

Tee boxes - 2/10

Fairways - 1/10 - my home turf is better than the fairways

Greens - WOW - -1/10 - They were sanded but it felt like a beach

Course layout - 4/10 - for some it might be challenging but not for me. It just felt awkward

Pace of play - 2/10 - being a public course that is understandable but we were looking at a 5+ hour round

Nothing about this course was good. The price that we payed through GolfNow HAD NO mention of aeration - both on greens and fairways. We actually went - where's the fairway on almost all holes.

WE PLAYED 9 and left.

OH my what a nice gem in Acworth!

I can guarantee that if you didn't know this was a Muni-Course, you would think that you were playing a semi to private course.

The course is WELL-MAINTAINED! However, the greens were aerated on June 1 & 2 2020 and the day I played was on June 4th 2020.

Nonetheless, I could tell that the greens are in great shape as I saw NO fungus, bad spots and it appears it will have a nice green color and roll true as the sand settles.

Speaking of sand, the course has its share of traps and water. I never found the water which offers wonderful views against breath-taking backdrops. Now I did find sand and was pleasantly surprised that the sand was ...... wait for it....... FLUFFY! Yes Fluffy sand for a Muni- WOW!

The staff is very friendly and they have marshals on the course to help keep pace of play.

Now here's the kicker! Today is my birthday and I was pleasantly surprised that my round was ABSOLUTELY FREE as all I had to do was show my drivers license. Now thw reason I say "ABSOLUTELY FREE" is because I did not even have to pay for use of the golf cart!!!!! What other course does that?! They also gave me a FREE Jumbo beef hot-dog with a drink and bag of chips.

I definitely plan to play again THIS year 2020.

It is worth noting that we tee'd off around 8AM and I believe that if we had teed off around 9am or later, the pace might have been slow because I saw a full parking lot during the turn.

So do put this course on your list of golf courses to play in 2020 if you are in the area.

OH WAIT A MINUTE, I almost forgot about the walking comment in my title.

There were a couple or few par 4's that were cart path only and even though I found the middle of the fairway on all of those, i was keenly aware of the walk back to my cart.

There were elderly golfers (QUITE A FEW) that were walking this 18 hole course which means I plan to get off my butt and try to walk nine and hopefully 18 by the season's end.

Shout out to Matthew the pro-Shop attendant and staff who made our round most enjoyable.

Course has just been aerated and the management provided a free lunch and a discounted fee. Class act for the price paid. All in all in decent shape based on time of year and a great layout.

Greens sanded heavily, back nine closed so everyone playing at a snails pace on only nine holes, people being allowed to walk added to the misery.. No notification of conditions

Always like this course. Beautiful views, good conditions.

Problem was that only 9 holes were open and we did not know that until we got there. They were aerating. I might have missed it, but do not think that GolfNow alerted me .

We made the most of it and the staff was great, as was everything else

It’s a really fun layout, with some beautiful views.

The staff couldn't be nicer or more friendly. Like most public tracks, there are some minor issues. But overall, great value. I was playing alone and the ranger took it upon himself to stop, introduce himself and ask if I was playing well. He even pointed out the Eagles nesting on 13/14....what a neat thing to mention. The views of the lake on the front 9 are terrific.

The course is always in good condition and the pace was really good. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure you have enjoyable round of golf. It’s why I always enjoy playing there.

This is a fun course, but very difficult on a windy day.

Very innovative device on the flagsticks. No hands needed to retrieve ball. A few bumps on the concrete cart paths......they will be fixed this year. Beautiful Views from every hole. Watched the resident bald eagle swoop down within 100 yds and pull a fish from the lake! Awesome! Greens are pretty hard so they don’t “hold” unless approach shot has elevation. Lots of bunkers to avoid....overall a very fair course and terrific staff. Will play again!

Great course. Rangers are a bit stiff on pace of play. Great grass. Bunkers could use a smidge of work after the rain instead of doing nothing with them. Greens are nice and mid softness. Roll true. Technical course. Will be back again
