Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Great Value
Course played well. It was late so pretty windy. Fairways were good, Greens needed work but rolled true. I think they about to replace the greens? if thats the case it would make sense. Good value and pace of play.
Very good local course
Nice layout. Challenging with a lot trees. Traditional course. I will play again.
Greens need some TLC!
First time at Lone Tree and I'm not sure we'll be back. Overall the course was OK but the greens were in pretty bad shape. I'll play Diablo Creek over this course any day of the week. We had a few drinks after our round and the guy working the bar was pretty friendly.
We played Lone Tree in Antioch at noon as a threesome and finished in about 4 hours.
The course is a good shape, some fairway spots, but typical California.
Greens were mowed and fast, some of the newer
greens play faster.
There is a combination of raised greens and level
greens, lots of trees, good views of surrounding hills.
Worth the drive.
Condition
I've been playing this course for fifty years. The overall condition of the course is only fair. They've been replacing the greens with a drought tolerant grass (currently four greens). They look awful and play like a outdoor carpet. The tees are rugged. Having said this, I would recommend the course. It's not boring. It's fair for the high index player.
We played Lone Tree in Antioch at noon as a threesome and finished in 4 hours.
The course is in good condition, some newer greens are slightly faster than the rest of the course, but
in reasonable condition.
The greens were mowed, the fairways in good condition, with a mixture of level surfaces, trees,
sandtraps, and some elevated greens.
Worth the drive.
Nice Layout
The course is fairly laid out and fairly easy to walk with the back nine flatter than the front nine. Several greens are still maturing due to the new bermuda grass. Maintenance on the course is great except for quite a few greens that are beat up pretty good.
Needs attention
I have played and enjoyed this course for many years and am very disapointed in the course conditions. The simple things are not being done, mowing, overall grounds keeping.
Many greens are in poor condition and the tee boxes are not much better.
Hope they can get this fixed.
We played Lone Tree in Antioch at noon as a foursome and finished in about 4 hours.
Weather was clear, the greens were mowed and fairways were in good condition.
The course has some elevated greens, and is a mixture of level and hillside surfaces.
A good overall experience, and worth the drive.
Course coming back
Had not played here in a while since some of the greens were being repaired and there was a bit of maintenance needed.
Played this last Sunday and the course was in great condition, a couple of greens need to get fully green again but were still fine to play on.
Had a nice round of golf and great meal at their restaurant after.
Lone Tree , after a strong rain
The green were in much better shape , but there were some drainage issues. Overall good day on the course.
We played Lone Tree in Antioch at noon as a threesome and finished in about 4 hours.
Conditions were good, slight breeze, and the
course is in good condition overall.
The replaced greens are turning green from the
winter brown.
Views of surrounding hillside and pasture land,
some raised greens and hillside fairways make this
interesting.
Lots of trees.
Worth the drive.
