Very Big course with decent special prices for seniors
A lot of property, lots of different strains of grass, some draught areas, loved the elevation holes, price was right, but HOT weather can take a toll on you.
Average
First time playing here. The pace was bad for a 8:30 am tee time. When I got there they paired me with 2 which is fine for a single. Then they made that 2 some a 4 some within 5 min and then asked me to go out as a single chasing 2 groups of four
I quickly caught up to them and we made it a 5 because the groups ahead were slow and no ambassadors were to be found
I got a $40 Sunday AM tee time here with cart which is pretty good. They do have multiple water stations which was much appreciated
Very flat and easily walkabout.
Kern River Golf course
Course is in good shape. Was a little wet early in the morning. But in great shape
Best golf
Probably the best municipal to play in Kern County. Clean and well kept. Play here every month.
Good Challenge for All Levels
This is a fairly challenging par 70 course. It features 3 par 3s that are about 190 yards plus. The par 3s alone make this course a challenge. It also has three 400 plus par 4s that can be difficult for new and short-distance hitters. Greens are usually quick. This course is a good challenge.
Overall good
It was a busy weekend. Everything was good except we got a visit from a marshal while our two younger players waiting on the tee. They are 20 we are over 30. Said we had been slow playing and got a call. Problem was group ahead of us was keeping us waiting . Other then that very helpful . One cart died brought a new one out super quick . Overall it was a good time

Booking through GolfNow was very easy. We enjoyed ourselves and the course was very neat and for the high temps, the course was green.
One suggestion, that is during the booking, GolfNow must include the full name of the group. The golf course is not able to confirm anything by a single letter of the person only. Plus, the confirmation numbers from GolfNow means nothing to the golf course. They need the full name of person.
The golf course after much confusion matched my booked reservation by my phone number alone.
Great Round
Course was in great condition, pace of play was fast. Greens were very nice. Recommended.
Great Public Course
Course looked good and greens were consistent. This is a nice public course.
Great Course
This is one of my favorite places to golf. The staff is awesome
Great Shape!
This course has improved over the last 4 months. Greens were in much better shape.
Absolutely horrible experience
The pace of play was horrible, took us 3 hours to do 7 holes. At the 8th hole we had 2 groups in front of us waiting and 4 groups behind us. We gave up and quit playing, very sorry I spent $80+ dollars for this experience.
BEEN A WHILE
The last time I played this course was in 1971, so it's been a while.
I don't remember the course being as undulating, and, of course, the trees were much smaller.
We used to walk the course, usually on a Monday, because the course allowed pastors to play for free on Mondays.
The course was in decent condition as long as you played from the fairways. The roughs were pretty much weedy clover and in bloom so finding a ball in the sea of white is difficult. The greens however, were in great shape
If playing from the white or blue tees, be prepared for long par 3s (180-223 yards).
