Brea Creek Golf Course

I was surprised by the challenging holes at this course. Centered around the creek, your gonna need to hit it straight. The greens were very well manicured and kept as well as any course I've played. Thanks for a great round!

Think it's easy to male assumptions about Brea Creek if you're a first timer. Tough pin locations and surprisingly complex greens. Creek in play most of the round, course favorites are 4, 6, and 8. Have fun, better have your chipping and putting on point

If your looking to shoot a round and don't have a lot of time, this is the course. Gres are well kept and truthfuly, fairway is better some some of the expensive courses in the area.

I've been playing here for maybe a decade , I'd say once every 3 months, problem with this course is during the summer it dries out and becomes super hard so expect no love from the greens or fairways .

Do not expect to play 9 holes in under 2 hours it always seems to back up around hole3 this is the first of 2 that are over 300 yards , overall there are some tough but fun holes but I'd recommend playing there in the spring

Course is very easy, great confidence builder. Greens are not flat, so puts are decently challenging. Most 3's are reachable by iron, many greens protected by bunkers, but most bunkers are shallow and easy to get out of.

Even though this is a very short 9, it is a gem. I will definitely play here again, and again.

A good stater course but has some good challenges. Players are relatively friendly regardless of skill set which is nice. You don't feel rushed or pressured.

It was a beautiful day to golf . I purchased the round online but beware it is for walking. You will be charged a cart fee when you pay . So there is not much of a deal as this course is only 9 holes. Additionally since it is a short executive course the pace of play is very slow. Other than those conditions we enjoyed the experience.

The starters are on top of it, there's enough water and sand to make the course a challenge, and the price is right. They have a great deal on range balls and PM golf, if you live nearby: $30 a month for unlimited range balls after 1 and $5 per round after 1.

The tee box access is extremely dangerous. Our golfing partner seriously injured his leg falling on old, damp, gravel-covered steps. The steps were slick as ice. I can't suggest this course for any golfer who has any mobility issues.

Nice little 9 hole, but the pace of play was very slow

Small course but a good one for all levels. Only two par 4 holes the rest are par 3 holes.

Have played many times here, but this was the first time it was this slow! There were 2 to 3 groups we caught up to on the fourth hole, very slow, no golf etiquette and took their time with each stroke and they had many. We walked it and caught up even though they were in carts.
Also the greens are still showing signs of recent punching although it is almost a month, many bare spots not grown in. A disappointing day.

I frequent this course; I am a member of their Player Development Program and play it at least twice a week. Last week I played 36 holes in one day at Brea Creek and my experience compelled me to write this review.

It is a gem in that it is the ONLY 9-hole course I have found that focuses on one of the hardest things in golf: hitting it straight. It emphasizes tee shot accuracy while the very forgiving 3rd and 5th par-4's allow players to really grip it and rip it with their drivers. Short game wins skins here, so you best be up on your chipping. The greens are a medium speed at best but can lean towards slick so a high lofted lob is the best approach. Speaking of which, the greens are in the best shape they've been in the past year.

A quick note on the facilities: They can rustle up a hot dog but food is basically snacks. The clubhouse patio is great for a post round smoke and beer. The driving range is decent and the putting green is the perfect size. Now, on to the action.

Most holes here are very straightforward and the par-3 1st is no exception. Grab a P or 9i and let it fly 125 yards and mind the back to front downslope on the green (that slope is constant throughout the course). Club up on windy days as the first four holes are played into the wind.

The par-3 2nd is your first of three hops over the creek and has eaten it's fair share of my golf balls. You can card birdie with an aggresive iron shot. It's 163 yards over a creek and a solid draw should do you good. If you can't do that then a layup for par or bogey is just fine, thank you.

The 3rd is the first of two par-4's and continues the lousy tradition of playing into the wind, so 325 yards plays more like 350 or so. Grab driver and rip it straight down the middle, minding the creek running alongside the left rough. After that an accurate approach is needed as two deep greenside bunkers guard the way.

The 4th is a scenic par-3 that measures only 98 yards, but don't let its beauty fool you: more scorecards are ruined here than anywhere but the 6th hole (more on that later). Do not, I repeat, DO NOT overshoot the green! Nothing but 6's and 7's come out from behind this green. When you're done cross on over the bridge to the other side of the creek. It's time to use the wind to our advantage.

The 5th is our second and final par-4 and clocks in at 335 yards. It (finally) plays downwind. Mind the Creek running on the left and aim just right of the center of the fairway. It shrinks in the middle and a miss is more controllable from the right side than the left side. You're bunker free on your approach so get creative!

The par-3 6th demands a soft high fade from about 180 yards and is our second time jumping the creek. I aim for the left green side bunker and layup from about 20 yards out. Par is a good score here but, let's be honest, we'll probably bogey it.

The par-3 7th is very interesting. At 141 yards it isn't very challenging but I dare you to grab an 8i or 9i and aim just to the left of the tree furthest from the cart path and closest to the left side of the fairway. There is a slope that can spit you right out onto the green, which is the wackiest one on the property.

Ah, the downhill par-3 8th. It is the best hole on the course, is perfect for closest to the pin contests, and is your last chance to hit one over the water. At 130 yards it can be deceiving. Be sure not to use too much club; the rough behind the green is ROUGH (and downhill too!). Too little will leave you in the water, the sand, or in bad rough with a challenging uphill putt on a severely back to front sloped green.

Closing things up is the downhill par-3 9th. A harmless greenside bunker watches the action from the front right but you shouldn't have any trouble posting a 3... or 4... or 5.

I highly recommend this course for beginners trying to learn the game and practice course management as well as more experienced veterans looking to post a solid 9-hole score while getting some solid short game practice.

Greens are in great shape and the course overall
is very enjoyable

It took 2 hours and 45 minutes to play this 9 hole (7 par 3's & 2 par 4's). Granted, they did have a league that started in front of us but it always seems to play really slow here. It is in pretty good shape but be ready to wait at every tee box. I won'tbe back for a while which is a shame because I like the course.

I have played this course quiet a bit and right now this course is in the best condition I have ever seen it. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Best course for your money.
