We played creekside and hillside

The fairways were in terrible condition. The greens were in really good condition so i guess that is where the money is being spent

Large parts of the fairways were dead grass of dirt and some areas were so wet it was unplayable

Staff is very friendly here, but course needs significant maintenance improvement.

Tell someone that you have aerated course. NO grass near or around the greens, what's that about?

I’ve played this course over 20 times. I love the lay out of this course. It has some great risk reward holes and offers a challenge for all levels of golf. The condition has been getting worse and worse. Most recent reviews are accurate. The fairways are like cow pastures. They are either hard and bare or soaking wet. The bunkers are all hard pan. The greens, which used to be this courses saving grace, are bumpy and often have bare spots. Condition aside, I feel they’ve given up on any sort of service and hiring staff that know or care about golf. I’ve never seen pro shop staff not wearing golf attire at any course, until I played Brentwood last week. Cart kid was in a t shirt too. I’ve also never heard of a golf course closing before dark. They told us to have the carts in by 6pm, probably 45 minutes before dark. I actually forgot about it, and sure enough at 5:55pm, the non-golfer pro-shop guy drove out in a maintenance cart to tell us to come in. There was plenty of day light to get at least 3 more holes in. I was a cart kid in high school, waited every night for the troops to come in right at dark. I would never dream of pulling people of the course 45 minutes before dark. The owners/management need to let someone else take a stab at running this place, they should get out of the golf business. I think my favorite part of the experience was the sign asking golfers not to post reviews about the 9 hole course. Saying play at your own discretion. They should have one for the 18 hole course too, it’s just as terrible. Again, this course used to be great. It’s so sad what it’s become. Just about the only good thing about it now is that it’s open when other courses in town have shut their doors. So it has that going for it, which is nice.

Very disappointing for what used to be a nice course

Very disappointing. Been playing here for years and it's been fine. Not now. Greens were punched recently and have healed nicely except for some greens that are fighting some kind of fungus. The main issue was that the fairways were punched and/or tilled recently also and several of them were very wet/flooded in many locations on top of it. The aerated chunks of dirt were every where; not raked or removed. Seemed that there was more dirt than grass in the fairways and the traps had hardly any sand in them. Hard to hit a shot off of hard packed dirt in a trap, fairway or sloppy wet dirt.

Save your money and go elsewhere. They should discount the rack rate ($51!) when this kind of maintenance is going on. Rancho and Paradise knocked their rate in half.

Worst condition ever, like playing in a cow pasture or after you just rototilled your garden. Either hardpan dirt fairways or mud slick fairway. Mia managed. Allowed 6some on course. 5+ hour round including 40 minute delay off 1st tee. Management should be cycled through.

Course is not being maintained. The tee boxes were either bare or not cut. The fairways were even worse. The bunkers either lacked sand or were filled with mud. The areas surrounding the greens was similar to hitting off clay. The greens were a bit slow but in decent shape.

We played the Creekside/Hillside combo. It has a decent layout but it’s just not maintained.

Course conditions were terrible. It was like playing in the dirt all day, even in the fairways. Everything around the greens are bare and muddy. Patches of weeds mixed in. It’s like they cut the water off for months and Then decided to oversoak everything last night.

They were issuing everyone checking in $10 discount on the next round because they said the fairways had been aerated. (No notification was given when we booked). I don’t think we’ll be coming back until we here that it has improved.

Just terrible

I live in the area and will never play this course again! This place is in terrible condition. No grass in the fairways, it’s all dead. They over water and there’s mud everywhere. This place is such a rip off. $52 for the worst place around. Don’t waste your time or money with this place.

Muddy all over the course and maintenance people aerating the fairways while we were playing. Under these conditions the course is barely playable and certainly not at $42.50/person plus cart.

I enjoy playing new courses, so I figured I would give this one a try. It is literally the worse course I’ve ever played in my 14 years of golf. For the price the charge vs. quality of the course is incredible to me they feel ok robbing people like that. I literally wouldn’t play there again if they offered it to me for free. Don’t waste your time or money.

Played many years ago and it was a great course. Played yesterday and it was awful. Hard, dry fairways; no sand in bunkers. Some fairways were muddy. During Covid thought the carts were supposed to be cleaned between users. Ours was filthy. We had drinks in the holders that became covered in ants. So you know the ants were in the cart somewhere and hadn't been washed. Soap & water is very cheap and you should be protecting your customers. In the current shape, this course not worth the cost.

Greens not properly mowed, some bald areas on some greens, fairways pretty good in general, some squishy fairways, some dry areas

This course had one of the nicest layouts in the county. Unfortunately, they are over watering crabgrass fairways, mud sand trapd and dirt roughs.

It is clear they are lacking qualified management and have had this problem for a long time.

This is the poorest course in the East Bay.

What a shame!

Haven’t played there in a year. Until today. They should be embarrassed. Suffice it to say they’ve let a nice course go to seed. I don’t know if I’m angry more at the conditions or the hefty price I paid to play on a weekday at noon. From the dirt fairways to the rocky bunkers to the beat up tee boxes greens were ok. Reminded me of golfing at bethel island years ago.

This course use to be in great shape .greens are nice no sand to sand traps and lots of areas dirt ..I know they have signs saying Diablo course under work. But nothing about the two we played,.And group of 4 in front of us really slow and no Marshall to be found..I have played here 6 or 7 times this is the 1 st time anything like this has happen
