Brentwood Golf Club - Creekside/Diablo Course

Weird layout after some “temporary” (permanent?) changes. What used to be hole 8 is gone…the formerly par 4 hole 9 is now a short par 3, hole 10 is now hole 9. They shortened a par 5 and added a comically small green and repurposed the original green to be another par 3 (to make up for the closed 8th hole). It was a confusing layout. The conditions were okay, fairways were decent and had a lot of roll, greens were generally fine and rolled true (although there were a couple with nasty dead spots). 8 minutes between tee times on a Saturday morning caused us to tee off 20 mins late. Pace of play was slow but not unbearable. 8:38am tee time but finished the round and loaded the car at 1:50pm. $50 on a Saturday morning was a very fair price. I miss the course in its original form and I think they’d need to pump a lot of money into this course to bring it back to its former glory.

I have been playing Brentwood since the course first opened . Condition has always been an issue , but it is really bad now.

The new course layout is ridiculous. The 15th green and design is the worst I have ever seen. It appears to be a temporary green, but it’s not. I will be shocked if this course is open in 2 or 3 years.

This course is in poor condition all the way around. The fairways are decent but the bunkers are horrible and the rough is just long weeds. The changes to the course with the new par 3 fifteenth hole and the rebuild par 5 fourteenth hole is a joke. The quote new green for 14 is worse than a temp green. It is half the size of a small green and is totally bumpy. I would not have an issue with the changes if they had actually build a real green for the hole. It seems like the owner wants to charge competitive rates with other courses in the area but only put minimal money into the course itself. Very poor management for a golf course.

The course has improved very much since I last played 6 months ago. Now the fairways are better trimmed and in better condition. Greens are fast and there are far fewer damage due to ball marks. I am surprisingly delighted by the overall condition of Brentwood.

Course was a bit windy at certain times. No driving range or putting range.

Friendly staff in the Pro Shop and on the course.

The course was in good condition except for a few of the bunkers.

The new layout has potential. The par 3 is well laid out but the new green for the par 5 is painfully small and tilted away from the tee making it a challenge to hold even with a wedge.

Pace was slow all day especially. the last3 holes when the two groups ahead of us combined to. 7-SOME!

Went on the day after Thanksgiving, got there and was greeted with no carts and backed up Tee sheet. 250 Rounds booked that day. Back 9 disrupted by course redesign? Constant back up on the tees... Overall conditions not that bad otherwise... Staff was a bit short and not very friendly with few exceptions... Kitchen didn't open until 11 am, so no food...

So far happy to golfing at Brentwood golf club.

Sometimes pace very slow, others ok.

The golf cart is fixed by automatically controll that make me walk to play a lot. But.....

At this courses, I do golfing as hobby and walking as exercise so that I have all, feel good 😅 !

Brentwood should just shut the course down for 6 months and fix everything. Many areas are under repair, a lot of unmaintained spots, no sand in any bunkers, and they ruined the course by selling a portion of land and then having to create a new hole with a green the size a ping pong table. It's ridiculous. They had more space they could of made that tiny green much bigger. I do not recommend this course.

I've played here at least 30 times, but not since the pandemic. It was historically in much better shape, faster play, and a great bargain.

This time, we were behind at least 3 slow groups, but that is not their fault. The fairways and greens were very firm, but there was a lot of sand around the white tee boxes and green collars. The traps have never been good, but there were several traps which had zero sand. They looked like a motocross track.

Since my last round, they also closed 2 holes and squeezed in a couple shorter holes with temporary greens. It will be awhile before I return, but I will return some day.

If was good layout course and very challenging.

The course is too 🍃 leafy can't find a ball.

The golf cart too much auto-control , mostly I walked to play in each hole without the cart.

Overall, I enjoyed to golfing this ⛳️ golf course!!

The course is in very poor condition and they are charging an unrealistic price for the condition of the golf course. They changed holes, not sure the reason because the changes do not make sense to make the course better. The 14th hole has a new green which is worse than a temporary green. It is about a third the side of the average green out there and is more like they just cut it into the fairway. Very poor attempt and the bunkers on the course are unplayable. They do minimum work on the course to keep it playable. It is really not good for anything but a practice round of golf.
