Willowick Golf Course
About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

The Wick has great features
Very helpful and friendly staff, could not ask for anything more.
The greens are the best feature.
The greens have always been in good condition anytime I have played there. The fairways are below average and rough is full of holes. However, as the fee is very reasonable it offers value to anyone who wants to get a round in.
Great narrow forgiving layouts Exc greens Hrd fairways and Ts
I was skeptical from what Ive heard and decided to try it. Played 18 by myself which for me helps me play better in my zone. Seemed busy but standard good flow for 4hrs game time or less. TS and fairways are mostly not flat and bumpy lays for second and third shots happen even middle of fairway. With the right attitude and focus K really enjoyed my round. Sliced balls were playable from adjacent fairways if you don't soft slices. No water but hard sand placement. Greens are mostly clean and fast. It's hard because the course isn't immaculate flat fairways and boxes but otherwise a great historic course.
Fun course
The course was fun and the staff were great and friendly
Refund needed
Tee off is a hoax. So mad right now. Second time I prepaid and it rained. I called to cancel and get refund, tee off tried to confirm with course but tgey did not answer, Christmas ruined with Family, THANKS TEE OFF, YOU SUCK !@!
Solid
I have been coming here for years, 25-40$ with cart. The pace of play is always perfect and is an open course. The staff is super friendly and they always have range balls. The food in the restaurant is great and super quick.
!!MAJOR UPGRADES!!
I’ve been golfing here for the past 2 years every 4-6 weeks, lately it’s been every 2-3 weeks. They have major upgrades on the greens, fairways looking much better and tee boxes are much nicer. They ace of needs a little work but this course is going to be a top course in Orange County very soon! Super stoked!
Great Old School Course
I’ve been playing Willowick for close to 40 year's now and just took my children and a friend to play there for the first time. For the oldest municipal course in Orange County, it still is a nice place to play with lots of open space to make it a forgiving course. Except for a few (two) homeless people around the course, we all enjoyed our round. Plan to play there again soon!
This course has great features
