Cart barn thieves

6am tee time on the road at 9. Leave my “work” box with cigars and lighters in the back of cart. I come back 30 minutes later and it’s gone and the people working the cart barn wouldn’t allow me to look by the carts. Cigar box was a gift from my wife, so I’m furious.

Course is great as always, but the cart thieves need to be stopped.

OK course, horrible staff

Our foursome has played Costa Mesa several times because it’s centrally located for us and has times available. The courses are ok, but the staff is terrible:

1. The lady who usually works check-in is consistently rude, impatient and unfriendly. No matter how nice we are, she seems genuinely irritated that we show up and have the nerve to check in for our tee time.

2. The man who works the bar (big-bellied guy, wears a knee brace, always there) isn’t much better. He’s sometimes preoccupied with other things and is impatient with our interrupting him to order drinks.

3. More often than not, the kitchen is closed.

As for the course, most of the bunkers are virtually unplayable mud pits or concrete slabs. They need to add some good new sand and maintain the bunkers.

With a little customer service training and some work on the course conditions, CM could be a gem. As it is, we put up with it when we can’t get a time at a nice, friendly course.

Horrible pace of play

Not in bad condition and overall a fair price compared to the other Orange County courses but my goodness it is not worth it for how backed up it gets. I don’t understand why this course loves to send groups out one after the other. Expect to wait 5-10 minutes on most of the holes; ended up playing a 5 hour round last Saturday. Really disappointing.

Slow and over booked.

The club over books the t-times. Had an 11 start, didn’t T off till 11:30am. Then when it finally cleared up at the back 9 because people had left in frustration, the marshal asked us to speed up when till that point we had been waiting for 2 groups ahead of us to finish up.

PACE......

The course conditions were excellent, the layout was great, and the price was reasonable. However, the pace of play was extremely slow. It took over 3 hours to complete the front 9 holes! If this could be improved, it would be a fantastic golf course.

Slowest round ever

Everything about the course was just fine.... except the pace of play we were approaching 5 hours after finishing THE 12TH HOLE. We waited on every singe tee box. I have played this course many times, but this was slowest pace ever. We quit after 12. Just isn't fun with that much waiting. Very frustrating. Found out that they book every 9 minutes. Most courses book every 10 to 12 minutes. No wonder why it is deathly slow.

Solid spot

It’s a short course with wide fairways and it’s cheap. which brings out the bad golfers and the losers folks. Between them and the walkers the pace of play is insane. The conditions are good though and the course is challenging with small greens but easy enough to shoot low scores. Just manage expectations or go early.
