Pace of play!

I have played this course a few times over the years. I expect the pace of play to be slow but today was really bad. on the front 9 every par 3 had 3 groups waiting to tee off. No marshal in sight and the beverage cart could have at least showed up to ease the pain. The back 9 on the other hand goes lightning fast because of the frustration on the front 9.

Drunken players

Tee off time was 1:33pm. It’s done 18 holes at 7:17pm, that means it took a 5 hour 44 minutes. Can you imagine that? The Two groups ahead of us were drunken and made a scene.

From back 9 ,one guy of them was so drunk that he was yelling and couldn’t even heat the ball.

Of course one hole was completely empty and behind.

Even we told the marshal but it was nothing different .

One guy left the bottle of beer on the fairway and then nobody didn’t care.

We took it and threw it in the trash.

I never seen that kind of situation while playing golf.

It was a terrible terrible experience!!

Don’t play it this course which allowed the drunken players!!!!

Costa Mesa CC (Lagos and Mesa Linda)

Costa Mesa CC is my home course. I’ve placed over a hundred rounds on both Los Lagos and Mesa Linda (the shorter of the 2 courses).

The Good

- for a public course, both courses are in excellent condition. The greens roll great

- really good practice facilities with a driving range with both grass and mats, two large practice putting greens, and an are to pitch and chip

- the restaurant serves really good food at reasonable prices

- because it’s a city owned course, the green fees are very reasonable

The Not So Good

- given all the pros listed above, both courses are in get a lot of play. Tee-time are scheduled approx 7-9 minutes apart, so it gets crowded … like regular 3 group backups on 4 and 7 on Lagos leading to 5.5+ hour rounds any given day of the week

- This even applies to Mesa Linda (the shorter of the 2 courses) because you will get a lot of beginners out here

- for as good as the greens are, the bunkers are inconsistent. Some will have more sand (and be more playable) than others

Slow, Marshall MIA

Course is always slow and Marshalls are nowhere to be found holding groups accountable. Love Costa Mesa but they need to fix this issue
