Doesn’t get better than this
Pure & fast greens, smooth fairways, plenty of water coolers on the course. Great walk!
Well maintained but overcrowded
I felt the course was maintained very well. Not many weeds. The greens were nice. It was my first time there and the staff were ok but the marshal on the course was a little off-putting and not really the friendliest in my opinion. Not mean but made the person I was playing with feel bad for being a new golfer and needing more time. Also the course layout isn’t great in my opinion and was confusing. Probably won’t go back.
A lot of Good at the Bobby Jones Course
The facility is great. On the golf front, the pace of play was very slow and there were no efforts by the staff to speed it up. The cost for 9 holes with a cart ends up being about $80 dollars.
On the positive side, the course was in very good shape. The grass was solid everywhere and the greens were in very good condition. The multiple tee options are excellent for all levels.
The facilities offer a lot. A free putting course, a nice driving range, a nice putting green. A nice snack shack and restaurant. The history and bobby jones room are a nice touch.
I would return. The price is a bit steep and the pace of play was slow.
You get what you pay for here. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
9 Holes, 3 Hours
Course was in good condition but the pace of play was horrendous. It took 3 hours to finish 9 holes in 93° heat. If I’m going to pay $65 for 9 holes on a hot day, please have the ranger keep things moving.
No Value For Money
Bobby Jones - Whilst I have already send an email to the course Director, I must say that this course charges so much money for 9 holes and then $30 for the club car yet there is no value for money. The water tank Brush for the Irons cleaning had no water. No sand provided to fill the divot. The Beverage cart comes very late whilst it is summer and people sometimes needs a drink and don't want to carry one from home. This is a neighborhood course and I always supported it but they need to pay attention to detail.
170 minutes for 9 holes!
It was a beautiful day, I understand that, but the fact that they were 7 to 8 minutes delayed on teeing off and then literally every single shot. We had to wait 5 to 8 minutes. Two hours and 50 minutes for a nine hole round is ridiculous when it is relatively flat and they don’t allow five subs. Saw the Ranger once with four groups on one hole and he said he was going to try to fix the problem, but they did not. At the end of the round tried to eat at the restaurant, but they said they were on a 15 minute delay because the kitchen was small. Plenty of open tables but had to wait around for 14 minutes in front of the hostess stand After I promised them we would not order and only sit down and have a drink until the kitchen was ready. Not a great way to spend a Sunday.
Manage slow play
We played on a weekday afternoon behind a group of 5 of the slowest golfers ( all men please note ) . Their lack of knowledge or interest in the basics of etiquette was alarming . Never offered to let us play through even when they kept the bar car attendant for 25 minutes!! We were told it was someone’s birthday - hence the large number and bad behavior - no excuse.
Baffling why they were allowed to continue this behavior even after the bar cart employee said they reported them . Disappointing for what should have been a fun day.
Great course, poor layout, bad use of tech
Course is great 9 hole
BUT
The layouts/holes vary, Magnolia and azaelia..
The tech on the carts should be good enuf to guide you through the property but it’s lacking
So expensive!
Greens were perfect. 40% of fairway shots were out of the dirt, but blame that on the recent hurricanes. Good round of golf. The tee boxes are very hard to find because there are just numbers - there aren’t actually tee off areas.
4-some was $241.50 total for 9 holes. Then we had to pay $30 per cart. It hurts my soul playing an okay 9 hole course for that.
Bobby Jones Azalea Course
Hardly any grass in the fairways (mostly sand) and greens were lightning fast. View of ATL from the course was cool, but was very disappointed in the course conditions considering how much we paid for 9 holes.
course unprepared
early March fairway conditions definitely not up to par. Mostly dirt. Hope conditions improve. My suggestion, offer discounted winter price.
Iconic, expensive
You pay for the iconic Bobby Jones layout and course conditions. You also pay for some of the best public golf inside the perimeter. Pace of pay was so incredibly slow, 7 holes in 2 hours, and I left without finishing 9. I can’t justify $60 for walking 9 holes in 2:45 hours. $85-$90 for 9 holes with a cart. Amazing and creative layout, absolutely stunning course maintenance. Played after the literal tornados and there was no standing water and the greens were amazing. Just insanely expensive and slow. I’d rather drive outside the perimeter and play a solid 18 for $90. They say the $21 range price is 70 balls but you hit with the trackman and the buckets are about 55 balls. Clubhouse, beer, food, amenities, location-great. Golf…I’m driving OTP
