Black Creek Golf Club
About
Black Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole, championship course that is conveniently situated less than an hour from Savannah. The course sprawls across acres of rolling countryside, surrounded by nothing but lush meadows and hills, providing the round with peaceful seclusion. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels and the blue tees are enough of a challenge for more advanced players. The front nine has a wide-open links-style layout that provides an interesting contrast to the back nine, which is characterized by tree-lined, narrow fairways. The greens are large and undulating and sometimes framed with strategically placed bunkers. The golf course winds through scenic coastal marshes and wetlands, which come into play on 13 holes. There is even an island green on Black Creek Golf Club's signature hole, the par-3 15th.

Nice character
It is a fun coarse to play. The greens were not in good shape at all, so that would be the biggest downfall. The fairways and roughs were in decent shape. Cart paths were pretty bad and a little hard to navigate, but I am used to Las Vegas layouts. Good course and nice people.
Nice layout worth playing
Conditions were decent but because of recent rain, the greens had some bad spots. Otherwise, the course played great.
Recent work on the course is going to help tees and greens thrive. I’ve played there many times and it keeps improving.
Enjoyable Course
Good course for the money. And real good restaurant!
Greens and Tees need a lot of work
I looked at past reviews prior to booking a tee time and the reviews said course was in great shape just days before playing. That was not the case. Greens were average 85% bare with inconsistent grass growth and putting was a nightmare on some of the greens. Even the tee boxes were at times with no grass. There were no divots being repaired either so that only added to rough greens. Had a tee time set but that didn't matter as anyone could start when ever they wanted to so big time bottleneck to start the round, even though I expected the course to be busy with the holiday weekend. Overall the course layout was nice but the course is in big need of water and maintenance.
Things have changed
Its been a couple of years since I played this course but a lot has changed since. Tree clearing and tee box additions along with the exterior of the club house renovated looks nice. For the amount I payed to play this course I will play it again. If I were to give some constructive criticism please spend a little more time prepping the bunkers and move the tees up or back a little more often so the tee boxes can regrow the divots.
golf with my buddies
other than the 15th hole the greens are in really good shape
i like this course
Great Course
This Course is Great! Greens are looking great and the work that’s been done is impressive.
Confusing lay out, rough condition
Saw this course with an overall 4 star rating...no idea how. The front 9 was ok, but patchy greens. The cart path looks like it is 30 years old and is more rubble than path. Also. It disappears in large parts. At the turn, the bar said it was on a 45 minute wait, so no chance for a quick bite.
Back 9 cars path and greens were even worse. The signage is bad which makes the already complicated layout even harder to follow. On the 15th hole they were cutting down trees and fixing a broken bridge. The workers would courteously shut off their saw while you hit. If you enjoy a gallery of people waiting with power tools, this is your hole. Course would have played better if they looped you on the front 9 twice while they continue what I hope are extensive renovations.
If this course were massively renovated, the layout and design could deliver a fun round, but that is probably years away and I will not be back to see.
Course conditions
They still have a lot of work to get their greens back, but the course is a player friendly one and enjoyable to play. They are working on the course and we did not mind making some changes.
We really had an excellent lunch at the clubhouse and prices were good (food was even better).
I will come back again
A windy day.
First time here, liked the course layout, was disappointed in the amenities. There was a bathroom on the course, but unfortunately there wasn’t a beverage cart. Only 3 or 4 coolers around the course. Greens were nice, held shots well. Fairways were a little thin in the runoff areas, but otherwise in good shape. Bunkers need sand, a lot of it. Liked the course, will be back at some point.
The Course is Playable
The practice green is in the process of being replaced. A few greens need some work especially on the back.
