Golfer Reviews
Mountain golf at its finest. . .
The course is scenic, well maintained and nicely laid out among the abundant pines -- and homes -- of Alta Sierra, elevation 2,000 feet. The greens are even but on the slow side. It is a startlingly beautiful layout.
Really enjoyed Alta Sierra
We really enjoyed the course. The greens were in great condition, just a tad on the slow side.
Alta Sierra C.C & G.C a gem
nice staff greens seemed a bit slow dear on the course almost tame
Alta Sierra C.C & G.C
nice cart's hills house's on the fairway's deer that seem tame paired up with a local so that helped because I hadn't played their for some time small greens that a bit slow good pin placement.
Alta Sierra C.C & G.C
cart's were clean the green's were small and a bit slow dear on the course come up to you play the hill big trees and water nice fairway's
Nice
Course is in great shape. Not your snooty tooth country club. Everyone was friendly from staff to members. They had a tournament in the afternoon so they had an early shotgun for everyone wanting to play beforehand. Everything went smooth and we enjoyed a nice 4 hour round. Would definitely play again.
Country Club for the day
Course is worth the drive from Sacto. Country Club for a day. Course is a challenge and is in great shape. Greens a little slow, but overall a great experience.
Great Day at Alta Sierra Country Club
We split a bucket of balls before we tee's off. Went off as a twosome, the condition and weather we're good 73 degrees!
I liked the course layout it is right out in front of you. Playing a second time I would have taken advantage of some of the back stops and approaches would have been slightly different . I thought it to be very fair and challenging .Greens were in great shape, True and I would guess they were rolling in the 10+ neighborhood
Beautiful course
greens still a little slow from recent aeration, but views were incredible,,just a beautiful course,,I loved it
Alta Sierra CC
This course was in great condition. The staff was very helpful and we were playing on time with no delays. The course is challenging and you do have to hit it straight. Great time had by all. Only draw back was the grill was closed when we finished our round.
Awesome
First time I played the course , I just moved up here from the Bay Area , I'm looking for a new home course , I found it , wonderful course.
great course
Great course very challenging from black tees but more forgiving from gold tees.
Hidden gem
This course was awesome. From the course to the members this was a great round. I will be back soon.
green grass in the winter
Brought a foursome from Reno for the 10:00am Monday shotgun. Nice conditions, members very friendly and appreciative of outside play
Good pace, great course
We started a 1:00 PM and had no problem finishing. Course is in great shape. The primary thing that makes the course difficult is also what makes it frustrating at times; out of bound along most holes.. Really a fun course to play.
the course has a panoramic views most holes
well cant beat that for the price and course quality is and exelent deal so keep up the good wook.
Rude and Discourteous Golf Shop Staff
I have played Alta Sierra on and off for almost twenty years. Until recently my experience was good. Lately, I have encountered rude and discourteous treatment by the starter in the Pro Shop. Clearly, this individual does not welcome public golfers and does not value my patronage. In the future I will spend my golf dollars at nearby courses like DarkHorse, Auburn Valley and The Ridge where I have always been treated like a valued customer.
Alta Sierra typically has a fairly empty course in the afternoon of any given weekday. If the attitude in the Pro Shop persists it should remain this way. I hope the General Manager take steps to improve the attitude of his staff.
