Turkey Creek Golf Club

About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

18th tee box, with a few elevation changes and water on the left. If you feel confident, slug it off to the left and clear the water, putting you in a great position for a second shot to the green Photo submitted by copz1998 on 07/20/2018

Nice course
Nice course! Great layout, in good shape and the greens were consistent and fair. Pace of play was very slow.
Water!!!
My only complaint is that it was a 100 degree day and there was no beverage cart running AND the water jugs on the backside were empty!

All great except slow fivesome
All was well until we came upon 5 some on 5th hole. After 2 members of 5some left after 9th hole all went well.
The greens were damp enough that most shots from40yds to 120yds out would stop and leave a ball mark about 1/3 the depth of a golf ball. A lot of other course's greens are dry right now and therefore have a fair amount of roll. Neither good nor bad, just sayin'
Used to be one of my favorite courses in the area. A few holes were in rough shape but overall pretty good. Pace of play was ok. Staff was pretty unpleasant.
Great layout.
I know it’s just a sign of the season, but course was water logged and very wet soggy conditions. No run out on drives, chipping basically plugged if you were a little short of green and greens were very slow. They ran true, just had to hammer the putt.
Many workers driving their new maintenance vehicles across course at high speed, no regard for the golfers. I’ve never seen that at Turkey, have played many times. There were six workers on one green tearing it up and doing some kind of reconstruction. One guy was a lookout for the group, but it was very distracting. All four of us picked up before we reached the green. Moved on to the next hole,,,,
Best condition it’s been in for a while
It is tough to keep public courses in good shape with our summers… But greens were in great shape (guessing 10.5ish stimp) and mostly true. Fairways and tee boxes were mostly well maintained. Kudos to the maintenance crew. Thought it was a great value.
Local classic
Greens rolled true. The design is modern, very much target golf one of few courses in my area without houses on the course.
Great Day
Had an amazing day. Fairways were a little sloppy…but greens were nice and true. For a Sunday late morning pace of play was great and Marshall’s were out and about…but friendly and engaging. I’m canceling tee time next week when family is in town to change over to Turkey Creek.
Overwatered
Mid morning tee time the sprinklers were still on, course was swampy. Heat and standing water made the course feel muggy and gross. It’s in good shape, greens are slow though.
Pace of play
Something is up with this place on twilight rounds. Pace of play is terrible on the back 9. The younger crowd seems to hit mulligan after mulligan and not care that two or three groups are starting to stack up behind them. The Marshall is also nowhere to be seen after 3pm
