Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain

About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

Unsafe and terrible condition
Sad to see a course that has so much potential be poorly maintained. Had such a terrible experience playing today . Right off the bat this course has not been reseeded in easily the last two years . Hitting off the fairways I got injured due to the poor conditions. You’re hitting off rock solid dried grass that feels like concrete( on the fairway) So good luck if u chunk it ! when I got to hole #9 the cart guy grabbed my ball and walked away with it . When I approached the starter he couldn’t retrieve my ball back. No biggie I waited to the end which btw I didn’t even finish 18 holes due to my injury. I still went to get my ball back and the gentlemen that grabbed my ball was real defensive and said the starter had my ball . Didn’t even apologize, didn’t even acknowledge that he picked up my ball and didn’t handle the whole situation professionally we just walked out … I don’t recommend anyone to waist there money here 70$ for a jungle is honestly ridiculous. I want my money back . I feel robbed , I got hurt , I got disrespected.
Poor roughs
Poor golf shop
Poor fairways (harder then the rough)
Seating areas are outgrown
Tees are all over the place
Flags in the wrong area
Cups haven’t been changed in weeks
Car paths arent edged up
Bunkers have NO SAND
The Golf shop needs training
Branches everywhere
Unsafe to drive if you’re not in the cart path
Poor prices
This place has no business giving out tee times it is a hazard.
Needs a little TLC
It is an old style course. The fairways need some help as well as the T boxes. Overall it was ok to play.
Course Management
Pace of play is very slow and unmanaged. Course was very rough. Manager of pro shop, is unpleasant to deal with. This was observed with his interaction with a member in the pro shop and when notified on the turn for the 10th hole of the issue of extremely slow play of a group of 12 leaving open holes in advance. The manager chose not to address the issue or give a rain check for the remaining 9 holes for our group of four as we did not want to wait 30 minutes per hole the remaining nine. Our group left without compensation and will not return or recommend this course where management does not care or manage the standard of course etiquette.
Greens good, the rest of the course was in poor condition.
The course condition was bad. The starter rushed us off the practice range 20 minutes before our tee time to start early only to have us wait 20 minutes before we could tee off. The front nine was very slow sometimes two groups on a tee box waiting to play. Lee picked up on the back nine as several groups dropped out.
great value
Great value. 730am rate. Great greens. In home neighborhood layout. wide enough fairways, house lined. played indian and mountain. 3 nines available.
Indian 9 is a cow pasture
We played the Indian 9 and the Mountain 9. Would never play the Indian 9 again but the Mountain 9 was OK. Was probably a nice course at one time but is not being maintained, other than the greens. Tee boxes were often not market and the Indian 9 fairway are awful. Sadly, will not return
Oldie but goodie
This was an interesting course and we could see the history of a course well used in earlier times. Some modulation in the fairways and challenging greens. The greens were well kept, the fairways were fine but a lot of work needs to be done on maintenance and cleanup, etc. A lot of water features. We love that but they could be cleaned up. All in all we would come back. Staff great and restaurant was wonderfully informal with good food and friendly staff!
Enjoyable course
Just a fun, comfortable, old fashioned (which is a good trait), solid course with confortavle character.
Don't play here
This course is not recommended @ any cost.
Poorly run and managed. Needs an extreme makeover. Been this way for years.
Good greens. Recently mowed, so pretty fast but doable. Rough manageable, and fairway very closely shorn. I’m a bogey golfer, so I’d rate the course as moderately difficult but still well within my comfort zone. On the day I played the starter allowed a sixsome out ahead of me and my partner and we were held up by that group. I think it’s crazy to allow a group of six players under any circumstances, but at a resort course during peak season in the desert? Really?
Never once saw a Marshall to monitor a large group like that.
Despite this, I played the course twice and had good time each day.
