Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain

About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

2 completely different nines
The first nine was on a well-kept course, clearly signposted. The second nine (on Indian) was almost a ploughed field in terrible condition, though the greens were OK.
meh!
Got crap from some old Kerin. The course needed some attention. It was inexpensive and the guy at the counter was nice and helpful.
Not a $60 golf course
The course is getting a little bit of grass on the fairways although very thin. The greens were good although some had dark patches.
We got there early so we could get ready and practice before our game, but were told we couldn't get a cart until 15 minutes before our game.
Not all tee boxes had identifying markers and hole 16 had a marker, but it was black rather than silver...didn’t take much to confuse us..haha.
Nice course for the price
We wanted to try a golf course in the desert that was only $55 per person. Great low price. So we signed up with GolfNow and we were not disappointed.
The green were challenging, with many rolling slopes. The conditions of the green was not great, but ok.
There are lots of trees. I hit many of them. Ha. My husband only hit a couple. And there are lots of leaves, which makes it a bit challenging to find your ball. But this is not a complaint, since we are from a golf course that also has lots of leaves in the fall.
The fairways had just been redone, so there were a lot of machine holes and lines. Maybe this will look better in a month, or so.
The tee box markers were poorly taken care of. I was hitting from the silver, and could find all mine…even though they had odd solver markers that changed design. Sometimes just rocks painted silver. My husband wa frustrated with his markers
Overall, we would go back.
This course is decent.
Course is subpar and in not great shape at all. Greens are good but the course itself isn’t very good. Leaves everywhere, pace of play was poor. Tee boxes were in rough shape, had to assign myself a golf cart. Tried to give the course a break from the reviews but the 2/5 stars is honest.
Course maintenance needs improving
The course is an enjoyable layout. Greens were in good shape. The biggest problem is leaf debris on the course. In some areas it is almost unplayable because balls cannot be found on the fairways amid the debris. The club needs to clean up the debris.
A cost-friendly pleasant round of golf
Staff are friendly and helpful. Pace of play was excellent, with members involved in a skins game allowing us to play through.
A course clearly suffering a slow and painful death
I’ve been to some poor public courses before. This semi-private course couldn’t hold a candle to those. My friend warned me they shouldn’t charge anyone to play there and she was correct.
Total lack of care and maintenance. Started when the pro shop handed me dirty worn unwashed balls in a ratty used plastic grocery bag.
Warm up facility was in the worst condition I’ve ever experience, chipping green was mostly bare dirt and the “sand bunker” was full of weeds and if you were lucky, maybe a patch of dirt.
Putting green always in good condition
Fairways were admittedly not horrible, fairway bunkers like asphalt and green so hard impossible to stick a ball.
On the turn the 10th hole had 10 carts backed up as the starter totally lost control of pace.
Avoid the cheap fees and spend a few more bI JA and avoid this nonsense they are trying to pass off as a golf course.
Indian palms
Bunkers were in rough shape and the greens were patchy. People were nice. Clubhouse needs work with more product in the pro shop..
Over Priced
I expected a lot more from a so called resort course.
The manager insisted I did not have a reservation and there were no tee times at 11:18 until I gave her my first name. Turned out there was an 11:18 tee time under my name. Apparently golf now only provides the course with the first name of the golfer. I got a bucket of range balls but as soon as I stepped out the door the starter told us we were on the tee, although it was twenty minutes before our tee time. The starter did allow us to tee off at our scheduled tee time. The marshal warned us numerous times to speed up even though we had to wait for the group in front at every tee. To help out we joined the couple in front of us, but we we got to the 10th tee there were 7 groups in front of us.
The fairways were thin the grass looked as though it had been thatched. The greens had ball marks and the roll was inconsistent. Cannot recommend this course. .
