Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Mountain/Royal
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
You might become enraptured with Indian Palms' past. But the course itself has very much moved into the 21st century.
Eighteen of its 27 holes went through a massive renovation a few years ago. Some of the most dramatic changes are on the greens, once generally flat and small and tilting from back to front to allow the greens to hold shots almost to a fault. Many greens on the course today have been expanded to as much as 6,000 square feet.
The Royal nine features water on eight of its holes. (Yes, your break from water is one hole total).
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green.

Indian Palms Golf Course
This is a real ________. They must be very proud to have sand greens. They don't tell you that before they take your money.
The starter.........WOW.......looks like he's the only person that knows golf.
Like I said........this is a real ______ and they should repay us for wasting our time.
This is not a course that should be on your radar
I played this course with my wife and with our favorite golfing couple
We were extremely disappointed in our experience
There was very little green on the golf course
The greens were suboptimal and some of the greens were actually lost particularly several on the back 9
75 dollars for this experience was high way robbery
You can find a better golfing experience elsewhere
We will not return here to play golf again
Royal & Mountain
3 Nines here - played Royal/Mountain.
Played with a frequent player here. He helped with tips and also reported that Indian nine was in poor shape and needed work.
Pace and price were probably reflecting this.
I was satisfied with my round.
played Indian for the first time and the overseed was really bad--first few greens were sand. Royal was better
Indian Palms Course
This historical course has seen better days. We played Royal which was not in real bad condition but not optimum. Then we played Indian - the course was in terrible condition. Greens we covered in sand and the bunkers were awful. I never leave a bunker without raking but I did today - couldn’t tell the difference anyway. Staff was friendly, cafe was good. Great hotdogs (a little pricey but what’s not these days?). We won’t be back.
California Dreams
We thought the course was in poor condition.
A bit overpriced for the condition of the course.
Our dreams have been turned into nightmares.
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
This course use to be a very nice course. I have played it a lot over the years. Last year it was bad but this year it was worse.
The maintenance of the course is terrible!! Brown dried up fairways on many holes, No grass on many greens.
ONE OF THE WORSE COURSES IN THE VALLEY!!!
scruffy
Royal nine was not too bad, but Mountain was not maintained at all.
Course needs help.
Golf course was extremely rough. Tee boxes were in disrepair, the greens were bumpy and not much grass. Sand traps were like concrete. Not a well maintained golf course.
Course needs a lot of work
We've golfed this course many, many times, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to recommend it to my friends. The Royal 9 was ok but the Mountain 9 didn't have any green grass. The greens were like putting on dirt. Too bad as we used to enjoy playing there.
Beautiful course, fun to play, nice location and excellent staff
I would definitely play this course again and I enjoyed learning about the history of this course. I am not an expert golfer but I certainly enjoyed playing here and I would definitely go back again. I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and it had very nice facilities.
