Indian Springs Golf Club
About
If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

super
every time i come to PSP i play this course a few times
Great greens
Nice wide open course but enough water, traps and Out of Bounds to keep you honest. Staff was great and greens were in super shape but tricky.
Not worth the price
The course felt unkept. Flower beds were skimpy and dry and unattended. The rough was dry dirt mostly. The surrounding houses were unappealing. Several looked sketchy and not cared for. There are a lot more pretty courses in the area to play, especially considering the cost. Hated having to cross such busy roads constantly.
Lots of Potential but didn’t deliver
A nice entry and the pro shop staff were attentive, polite and quick. The practice range area is in the bottom of the wash and it seemed like a mile away, so practical but less than appealing. The starter was great and off we went, right on time.
Then the funky travel through neighborhood pathways, and even on public roads to the next hole started. It’s not a ‘bad’ experience, but a bit of attention to the aesthetic would be welcome.
Generally the course was in good shape, but it lacked appeal because of the rough areas. The greens were true and putted well for us. Then the condition of the course itself started to wane a bit. They clearly know how to care for the course, because in some areas it was pristine and very appealing. But in other areas it just didn’t measure up.
We didn’t see a Marshall on the course, and the pace of play suffered accordingly. We also didn’t see a beverage cart which would have been fine if there were more water stations.
So a mixed review. Where the course team focuses, it is lovely. But that isn’t everywhere.
Now all that said, we noticed that golf teams from area schools were practicing there and that shows a commitment to community that we applaud. Well done.
The course and experience is better than many but still didn’t rank above average. But it could be so much more with some more TLC.
Always a good time
Always enjoy playing Big Rock. It’s always in decent shape and the staff are always very friendly and seem to appreciate your business. Spent many years in the business myself and having a good solid staff counts a lot.
Round at BigRock
Course condition 6-7 on 0-10. Starter friendly, no cart service on course, 96 degrees, no water out on course, initial 9 holes quite average conditions and layout, back nine much better.
Great value for price
Greens were great
Fairways also good
No beverage cart was only issue
Nice course - but slow pace of play
I like this course and the pub attached (19th hole).
Course was busy and behind. Pace of play not great.
But overall recommend this course.
