About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
You might become enraptured with Indian Palms' past. But the course itself has very much moved into the 21st century.
Each of the nines carries its own personality. The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes. The Royal nine features water on eight of its holes. (Yes, your break from water is one hole total).

Expectations need to be low.
This course is still recovering from over seeding. It will be better in a months time but if you want to just go out and swing clubs then the price is worth it.
I'm staying on the property. I wouldn't travel to far to play it right now.
The price is right
We had just arrived to Palm Desert and this course had time slots available same day and the picture on the Golf Now page looked great. There are 3 9's here. Overall the course layout is good. The first nine we played had not been overseeded yet so the fairways and greens were brown, the second nine was overseeded and green but the grass on the greens was shaggy. I'm sure it's nice in the summer but I was moderately disappointed with the conditions. The staff was friendly and the price was very good so it all balanced out. Still had a fun day!
Worst course i ever played by far
That course is absolutely terrible. The Royal 9 as no grass at all, it’s a disgrace to have that course on GolfNow. When you pay under 10$ and you feel you been robbed there is a problem. The layout is terrible. That shouldn’t be a golf course. To put 1 star is 1 star too many. Don’t play that course never ever.
Do Not Play
I was staying at an AirBnb on the course and they recommended this course. It appears they had re-seeded the fairways and they were dead grass and mud. I walked onto fairway in front of the Airbnb and this course was unplayable.
I found another course to play and will seek a refund
Worn out, and not playable
The Royal 9 is nothing more than a field. Undisclosed in the listing that it’s ’under repair’, quite literally a field. The Indian 9 was cart path only, undisclosed in the listing. No Marshall, a 5 hr round because of two groups not allowing anyone thru
In need of help’
A great time, not what I’d expect, 1975 course, tight, worth playing but I wouldn’t recommend it .
Course was horrible condition. Sand on greens. Brown grass.
Course was poor. Sand on greens. Brown grass all over fairways. Gopher holes all over course. Just horrible. Feel bad for members playing this course everyday. Played Indian and Royal. Royal was worse condition.
Fun affordable
Excellent staff service. Greens were slow but in good shape. They are reseeding the fairways but that didn’t bother me, if i had a bad lie due to the seeding would take relief nearby. Pretty much had the course to myself.
Beautiful Day
Weather was perfect and playing partners very nice. First nine had quick greens. Second nine not so much.
