Would not recommend
First time playing this course. Upon arrival I checked in and purchased a bucket of range balls for warm up. Odd that the course does not allow carts in the parking lot, although they do have a bag drop area. Driving range was your typical range. Practice greens were decent although chipping area was sub-par as there was barely any area for chipping. We teed off on the 1st and all was well. Although, we were last minute informed that the 5th hole was closed. This would have been nice to know ahead of time. A par 5 was closed and there were no alternate holes to play to make up that hole. The course is cart path only…. I would have just walked the whole course knowing that. I know it’s been raining in the area but the WHOLE course was a mud pit. Drainage could definitely be helpful on this course. I will be scheduling a chiropractor appointment though because the cart paths were rough! Knowing that St.Marlo is a high end area I was expecting the course to reflect the area….I will most likely not return as their are better courses in the area for the money.
Good course, could be better
It has been a few years since I've played St. Marlo, and it's a decent course, several beautiful holes, but for the money it needs to be better, little things matter on golf courses, like having a club washer (small tank to dip your iron in) on the cart, there's no gps on the cart, several of the ball washers are broken or missing entirely, there isn't a drink cart that comes around at all !!! This matters when they so tightly space the tee times. The greens were in sub par condition, and on top of that hole #5 was closed all together, but no warning before booking or a discount offered. Drainage is clearly an issue as well, my point with all of this is that there are courses that offer all of these things at a better price. I just expected more from a place like St. Marlo.
Terrible ever
Staffs are not friendly
Course was horrible
Green fee is not reasonable for like this course.
DO NOT play here and not recommend
Decent course in the area
Decent course in the area. Good pace. Greens could be a little better. Overall not bad for wintertime. Bunkers need more sand.
Had a good day
Good course, some unusual holes. A couple greens had some repair spots. Some fairways were very wet after days of rain that made staying stable difficult. I would like to play there on a dry day.
Nice Layout
Nice layout, challenging course from the tips, greens are a bit rough but look like they’re coming back, great value for the money. Steve the Marshall is a great guy, had great conversation with him, very personable staff.
Unplayable Conditions
Course was unplayable today. Standing rain water on tee boxes and fairways. Sand traps all had liners exposed causing hazardous conditions trying to play out of them. Cart paths are dangerous with broken concrete. Accident waiting to happen. This was a premier course years ago but has really gone downhill. Will not be back.
Not What She Used to Be.
St Marlo has really dropped off the table, no longer a "nice choice" - it's average in every way.
Carts are old, range balls look like something from "Tin Cup", pace of play is hampered by walkers, no beverage cart girl on the course and bunkers looked like they had not been raked in days - needless to say, I was disappointed.
Not Again- poor greens and bunkers
For $80 it’s a ripoff! It’s a shame how poorly the greens and bunkers are kept! No sand- playing off bunker liners. The greens are diseased and have black dirt spots throughout the surfaces. T-boxes are struggling to grow grass too.
I would not pay more than $30 to play this course.
Saturday afternoon golf
Just played 9 holes with my son. Course was in decent shape, greens need a lot of work though.
