Madera Municipal Golf Course

This course is an excellent course for the money. The staff in the 19th hole are professional and prompt. I'd recommend to everyone.

A well kept course with true fast greens. Not many municipals in the central valley can compare to this place, and the price is amazingly low especially when using the golfnow app.

This course desperately needs a marshall. Because this is a Muni course there are many people who play slow, but then there are those who think they are playing on the PGA tour and deliberately slow the course of play so they can leave an entire hole free in front of them. This weekend we played behind a threesome who were just plain rude and not only kept an entire whole free in front of them, but when we asked if they could speed up and play ready golf, they deliberately parked their carts in the center of the fairway and refused to move just for spite. I wont be playing this course again any time soon.

course is in good condition however they water to heavy on some fairways and not enough on others.
restaurant could use some TLC and cleaning.

Can't beat the price for an 18 hole course. In average condition for a muni course, but don't understand why they watered in the morning, as created standing water and muddy conditions. (We played at 8 a.m.) Greens are in great shape, considering it didn't appear anyone repaired ball marks. Additionally someone in front of us was either wearing spikes or tall plastic spikes and dragging their feet, really making a mess of the greens. Although we didn't have any food, appeared they had a full cafe with seating. All in all a good experience for the money.

Course played at a good pace, so we were done before heat kicked in. It was rather wet, with puddles in fairway and on greens.

Arrived early, greeted by the Head pro Ron, allowed to tee off early.... Loved it !!
Moved right along, greens and fairways in good condition...
Only thing, a few signs to show the next hole would be nice... :)

a great course to get started on . wide fairways and easy to get out of trouble. enjoyed the experience. my brother from B. C. Canada (plays to a 7) was very happy with the round.

I booked tee time at Madera Muni. On Apr 11, 2014 at 12:37 pm, but never get chance to check in, so my tee time went wasted...

Staff was great and helpful. Will play again. Course in good shape for so early in season

this course has well maintained fairways and greens. Overall, very satisfied with my round of golf.

Overall a very good deal..course is in very decent shape, groundskeepers are very respectful when working on course, rest of staff equally professional. One of the best kept secrets in Central Valley!

First, we didn't start on time because of the "4" tournaments scheduled for that day! We were only able to start when we did because one of our foursome's pushed to allow us to start on the 10th hole instead of waiting for 4 other groups to tee off before us on the first! ( which were part of a tournament). Otherwise it would have been at least another 30 or 40 minutes, not to mention the bottleneck of players in front of us. Once we started it was slow going for about the first 4 holes. After that it opened up and we were able to go at our own pace. What started out to be a nightmare day of golf turned out to be a very pleasant one. If we would have had to wait for the first hole it would have been a horrible day!! It shouldn't have taken a push from my partner to allow us to start on the 10th. Course Management was poor, fairways were fair, but greens were near perfect. On hot deals, or any deal really, an asterisk should me used to identify possible slower play than usual for whatever reasons, especially tournament play! I would not have booked had I known this. All in all it turned out to be a good golf day. Thank you,

the Madera Municipal Golf Course has been around since the early 90's in the last several years the courses has become much more mature with its trees and fairways it is an excellent course to play for the Central Valley.the staff is very friendly and always willing to work you in even willing to give you a tad bit of information if you're struggling with your swing. I have always enjoyed the golf course in Madera it is located off of Avenue 17 outside of town in the country very peaceful and quiet. nice nature scenes especially in the spring and summer when all of the agricultural crops are blooming. A must play if coming through Madera you will enjoy it and stop off at the 19th hole to have an ice cold beer on the patio.
