Great layout, nice course, great value!
Love this old historic track. Great layout that has a great flow to it. The greens were recently sanded and were too slow, but will be very good soon. Nice pace - we never had to wait on anyone and no one waited on us. The 4 holes across the underpass are reopened and despite temporary greens on two of them, all four are beautiful holes that are challenging and fun to play. Can't wait for the permanent greens to settle in. Hard to describe, this course just has a really nice feel to it.
course management
I can't believe this course turned down money in these times. The course has 4 holes closed and few used to rent cart because of maintenance. I asked the guy parking carts what type of maintenance he was performing and his response was the pro shop guy just told him to put them up whatever he says goes. No maintenance was being performed on the carts. I am concerned about the management decision because it doesn't respect those who are disabled and need to use a cart to get around the course. I am a disabled Veteran who likes to get on the course for exercise by the way I have 2 bad knees bone on bone and a cart helps me get around the course. I just moved to the area and I will not recommend this course to anybody based on management decisions. I will spend my money elsewhere

nice value
great value course.4 holes were closed, but still worth it.
The grass is not greener on the other side
The four holes in the canyon are closed for two months. The fairways are very dried out, the greens are slow and too hard to hold an average approach shot. However for the price ( I paid twenty dollars) to play 14 full length holes it's not too bad.
Forgiving Seaside Course
Sharp Park has long holes flanked by beautiful cypress trees. You can hear the ocean on the back nine (and see it if you climb up the hill along side of a few of the holes. The course did not seem extremely busy, but backed up severely on the holes across the road from the club house. Overall a pleasant course, great value for the money, and forgiving fairways that bounce the golf ball far even when your swing is off.
Worked for me !
No problems - great time. I love this Alistar Mac course. A real GEM.
What would MacKenzie say today?
Renowned designer, course was designed 80 years ago and also perhaps last maintained. It's not expensive, some scenery with nice pines, and wetlands adjacent to some holes. I can't say the holes were very memorable but there are some nice holes. I kept thinking what a nice course it good be with better turf conditions. Still I would recommend it.
Nice walking course
My husband and I really enjoyed spending Sunday afternoon playing golf at Sharp Park. We walked the course, which was excellent for walkers. Lots of shade and ocean breezes. Our round was nearly 5 hrs, but it did not really feel like it. We moved nicely through the first 9 holes with very little waiting around. Back nine was slower, not sure why. The greens were in beautiful shape. The fairways have been impacted by the draught - this course would be exceptionally beautiful if more water could be used on it.
Great Course
Sharp Park us one my favorite courses to play. Holes are challenging but also are good for beginners to experts. The staff is wonderful. Marshal Al was very nice and helpful. I will be back again.
Big fairways
Slow greens. Breezy at times. Long course on some par fours.
Good course for the money
Paid the twilight rate of 22 bucks. Finished all 18 holes, no waiting at all. The wind can be a little daunting but am definitely going back.
One of the best hot deal.
The price is great for a round of golf. There's a 100% improvement on the putting green.
Sharp Park GC
Great to have a decent course in my backyard. Not the tightest of fairways but a gem nonetheless!
no comment
No comment. For the price I think it's worth it. The course was so dry.
Golfing At Sharp Park
Considering Our Drought Situation In CA The Course Is In Very Good Shape And The Twilight Cost For Playing Is Very Reasonable. However, The Cost For Their Carts Which Are Not In The Best Of Shape Is Not At All Reasonable At $31.00 !!!
Course is affordable
OK golf course for all types of players,
including seniors .
could be nice
this could be a beautiful course, just needs some TLC.
A lot of potential
Great course design, trees, ocean breeze, nice and long. Really good potential. However it is not quit there yet... Fairways and greens need some attention but one can tell efforts are being made. I will go back for sure! Keep it up!
Sharp Park LEA review #1
The course allowed me to use most of the clubs (14) in my bag, some of the greens were bumpy, plenty of doglegs, I walked and carried my bag, which at 60 might be a bit much, however, had a solid round for me. I will be back.
Met the Agronomist! All organic on the greens!
Great day of play. Only Woman on green's, what else is new. Walked it easily, people friendly, dry green after it had rained two days before. 16th hole views are epic and nice hole...Worth teeing up for!
