Another “has been” course
Used to be a nice course. It’s in terrible shape. The pace of play is horrendous. Bunkers have 1/2” of “sand”, fairways have major problems IMO, they seem like just cut weeds a lot of places. Greens are dotted up with divots. Carts are junk, sometimes have to push gas pedal two or three times to go. Some of the tee boxes had more dirt than the bunkers. I had an actual pine cone come out of the range ball machine. Dead fish in water on #9 floating. Typical SoCal winter conditions?!? Starter pushing groups into the group in front. There are better courses for the money.
Fairway grass was well maintained
Fairway grass was very well maintained. Staffs were very friendly.
A variety of course layout with beautiful views.
Course had some shortcomings
The condition of the fairways was subpar. Not much actual grass. The bunkers had very little sand and were hard packed. Also forgot my sky caddie. This had to be least marked for yardage course I have ever seen. No 100, 150 or 200 markers. There were some markers in the fairway but only saw three the whole round. Carts were older and very hard to turn.
Need improvement on starting tee time and managing pace of play
Starter not managing tee sheet properly, people jumping ahead of their tee time and let 6 people tee off at the same tee time slot. Pace of play is not managed, no Marshall around when groups are 2 holes behind. Round of golf was almost 6 hours, ridiculous.
Crowded Range
The big thing I'm walking away with is how crowded the driving range was. Warming up with a small bucket before the round was nearly impossible as everyone in a range stall had a jumbo bucket of balls. Might be nice if the course reserved a few bays for warm-up versus those there on range time.
Beyond that, course in good shape, moved well, and pretty much a what you see is what you get course.
Rough conditions
Usual Saturday morning 5 hour round. Conditions not so great all around. Wet patches, dirt patches, no rakes in the bunkers.
Very Slow Pace As Always
I hadn't played here in many years because I remember it being very slow pace of play. Sadly nothing has changed. Overbooked and slow.
Vineyard
2nd time coming tho this course, first time I didn’t get to finish all the holes, but this time I got an early tee time to make sure I do all 18. Without a doubt, this is a beautiful course to play. It’s both challenging and somewhat manageable depending on how your game is that day.
Great course, friendly staff and full bar.
Greensview
Greens are in excellent condition and well manicured! Fairways are Fair and very playable. Look out for wind speeds and directions to pick-up in early afternoon.
Keep it in the fairway
there are many OB's (right mostly) throughout the course. A few "need to know" holes as you aren't sure where the green is. Fairways need the grass to grow in many areas. Greens were in good shape but mostly were sloped. Lots of distance between green to tee on many holes
